First timer vaping, bye bye analogues!

Well I finally got my package in from MadVapes.com and I am pretty happy with my purchase so far with the exception of both batteries being defective. Well I got an Ego Starter kit with 4 flavors and a pack of Smoktech Cartos. The vapor production from the atty cartridge combo is good so far but I'm not having much luck with the cartos. Since this is my first time using them I'm sure I'll get it figured out sooner or later, lol. If I'm using the condom fill method, how many times should the condom be filled to get the carto nice and full? Well even though I'm only one day in I must say I'm very happy to report I've only had two analogues from the normal PAD, my cravings seem to be met from my vaping. I ordered my juice in 11, 16 and 24mg and the 24 is for sure the choice for me, however I like most will continue the hunt for that "magic" flavor, lol.

Well thanks to everybody on the boards for compiling such a useful database of vaping knowledge in which I've seen the blue light and am saying good bye to the smokes!

Congrats on your success so far. Just read as much as you can about filling cartos and making the most of your vaping experience. You won't be sorry.

just fill it with dripping into it until it leaks out the bottom. drip 15 quick then drop 2 a time and wait a 10 seconds then repeat. you can also blow on the carto lightly to push the juice down. once it leaks out the bottom its filled. wipe off the bottom blow it out lightly one more time and let it sit for 5-10min. wipe the threads one more time and then be amazed of the difference in th vapor and flavor. enjoy!

Hey congrats! As for the condom fill method I typically use it for the first fill only, then after that just drip liquid when they need more juice. Try 20 drops into the condom , then add more by hand if you need it. When it starts tasting off, add more drops until its wet again. You may also have better luck with a pack of Boges.

Welcome to the world of buying tons of new stuff and wondering if you are ever going to "get it right"

I drip fill from the mouth end of my cartos after popping off the white cap. It's my relaxation time at the end of the day, refilling the ones I need for the next day, and whatever the wife has drained dry lately. I just drip one at a time and once the top of the filler material looks "slushy" it's done. Never tried the cap fill method since it never looked right to me.

Yes, you fill it through the connector side

-Take both of the condoms off
-Remove the white rubber mouthpiece from inside the cartomizer
-Fill the condom up to about 3/4 to the top
-Slowly push the connector side of the cartomizer into the liquid filled condom
-Continue doing this until the filler material is saturated (it will look like slush)
-let any extra juice drip out of the connector side (or you can just blow it out)
-Put a drip tip on the end, if you do not have one put the white rubber piece back in

Thanks for all the great advice everyone, I'm pretty sure I would have had a much different experience without being a member here. They should really ship instructions with the starter kit for other noobs such as myself. Better yet they should include a link to ECF!

Well sorta, I've tried 3 different cartos with different flavors and I'm having issues getting vapor from them. Unless I sit there and pull my lungs off, a very small cloud is all I'm able to produce. Not having any issues with the attys.

Do you know the resistance of the attys and cartos?

Pull long and slowly, not quick and tough like an analog.

Also, go get some boge 2.0 cartos. They will change your life.

Smoktech cartos can be a little finicky when it comes to getting them broke in. Keep at them, you should see an improvement. Being over filled can cause the carto to not produce much vapor...unscrew it from the battery and gently blow through it to clear the air hole. Also you might want to check your post connection on them. The center of the connection, has the air hole in it, should protrude just a little tiny bit past the threads. If it doesn't, it's not making good contact with your battery. How to remedy is this...take a tiny precision screwdriver and insert it into the hole (not too far) and gently lift up a little. Don't get rough with it or you'll pull the post out and then it's no good. Screw it back on and try it again.

@Throatkick, I have the 2.5ohm cartos. I just kept puffing on the one I have in right now and airflow and vapor have greatly improved. Thanks Hairball, I read your post and just kept at it for about 6-7 mins. Now I'm seeing a much better improvement. I'm going to place an order for the Boge next since that seems the general consensus here. Random question, do people trade juices on here? I got a 30ml bottle of Energy Cow and it's not really my cup of tea, lol.

Another thing to look out for with cartos to make sure the airflow is not obstructed. Once you pop the top off, look through the little hole. You should be able to see clear through to the other side. If not, you can adjust it (gently) with a toothpick etc.

EDIT: Everyone is different, but on an eGo battery the Boge 2.0 will probably help you out even more.
