Just placed an order for the orchid from US warehouse, but I just moved and my sleepy, exhausted self forgot to change the shipping address on my paypal! Definitely dont want the order to go to my old address. I emailed service@focalecig.com, but i know its well past normal business hours in china. Is there anything else i can do? wanna catch this before they send it out.

    Received mine this morning.

The box is nice and beefy. No finish blemishes and the battery door sits flush. Display screen is aligned properly in the window. The OLED is clear and bright. USB connector is aligned and flush. Internally, I can tell there must be a copious amount of hot glue under the plastic protector which covers the electronics - glue is emerging from quite a few places in the gaps around the plastic. I probably won't bother looking under the protector unless the board fails and I end up putting in a genuine Evolv board.

Display reads "Evolv dna" upon waking up. It wakes up very quickly. Resistance readings are dead on. Unfortunately, my rebuildables have yet to arrive so I'm running the box with my nautilus full and mini with BVC coils. Both attys sit flush and the 510 connector is properly aligned. Buttons are properly aligned and nice and clicky. All in all, it appears to be a nicely constructed little box, save for the mess of hot glue I'm guessing lurks under the plastic cover.

15W seems to be about all my BVC heads are willing to endure. Actually backed it off to 14W but it hits nicely, certainly better than the 11W MVP it is replacing.

Gratuitous pics (I'm certainly no photographer):

    Cool.

Have you had a Chance to Gauge the Battery Life yet? Both under use and when it is just sitting.

A noticed from the pictures that there Doesn't appear to be any LED Charging Light. Is that correct?

Mildly interesting development with my DNA30 box; It was displaying atty resistance at all times until a few minutes ago. Now it shows 0.0 until I hit the fire button, just like it does with voltage. Certainly not a huge issue but I found it a bit unsettling that the device is already changing behavior after only a couple hours of use. If this is the only issue which develops, I'll be thrilled.

Maybe a battery pull will fix it. /shrug

edit: nvm... I think it was doing this all along. It reads 0.0 after awakening, then shows atty resistance upon the first fire and displays it until it goes to sleep again.

I've only had it for a couple of hours so I have no idea about the battery life. I'm using a 2600mAh VTC5 which I'm assuming will last a full day at 15W. Probably be another story once I put a rebuildable on it and up the power. I have other VTC5s charged at all times and it's a passthrough device so I don't think I'll have to worry too much about battery usage.

It does have a charging LED. You can see it next to the USB port. From my understanding the red light goes out at full charge.

My Hana Modz clone from the Group Buy has been sitting in Jamaica, NY since the 7th and hasn't moved. I have tracking alerts set up but does anyone know of anything I can do to speed up the delivery process?

I doubt there's much you can do to move it along. Not sure why it would have gone to the Jamaica, NY post office unless overflow stuff from Flushing ends up there - they are only about 5 miles apart. Of course, trying to predict anything USPS does with packages is pretty futile.

edit: did yours already process through ISC?

FWIW, here's the tracking history on mine:

Wow Focal is on the ball, Orchid V2 already hit new arrivals

Tempting, but I am going to hold off and see if they do a split chimney and glass tank on the V3 :)

Not a true v2 orchid, theirs does not have the bottom fill screw. Or at least it is not showing it in the picture posted in the listing.

Sorry, I'm mistaken. I was looking at the 2.4 4 listed at the us warehouse. The one that is priced at $11.22 does show it with the fill screw, just will have to wait for that slow boat from china to receive it. ;)

I received my copper Manhattan style mod from the FC group buy this week and I am quite satisfied with it. I do not know who made it as it did not come in a box, it was just in bubble wrap in an envelope. It was very clean and I did not have to do any cleaning on it at all. I am surprised that it came halfway around the world and still did not have a speck of tarnish on it. The switch button throw is a little shorter than the ones by Acerig. The only thing I have found on it that was not perfect was the top cap was ground flat on the top and the edge was not then rounded off. This left a sharp area on the edge of the top cap which I easily rounded off with some fine sand paper. It came with the three different length 510 positive pins which allows for the flush mounting of different atomizers.
If I had known the quality of these mods was this good, I would have ordered more than just one of them.

Thanks for that feedback Portertown :) .. I still have no idea who makes those Manhattan mods on Group Buy, but I am jealous as hell that my Acerig copper Manhattan that was in a box and plastic sleeve still managed to be tarnished as hell when I received it .... why Baby Jesus? ..

I'm gonna sell that thing eventually :p

It's likely because FT does much more volume. Have you seen how many products FT carries, it's insane. So it is impossible for FT to get all orders out the door everyday, they simply provide shipping information and ship it as soon as possible..often it takes a couple of days.

Ya, FT does infinitely more business than FC does .. FT averages 7 millions visits per month, while FC is 450K per month. FT is on a totally different playing field.

Thanks for this detailed feedback .. I get asked all the time about the FC Hana clone, and I cannot answer because I have the Cloupor DNA 30 which did not come from FC. This will be very helpful to all who had previously inquired .. you rock

I believe HCigar has a VS clone on the way.

Hcigar did do a version of the Vaporshark and I would NOT recommend it .. There is a video on another forum of the Hcigar 35W VS look alike that caught fire, and the box was opened to reveal the flaws and how it happened. The 510 connector was held in by hot glue, which separated from the body, then moved and shorted out causing the fire.

It is one thing to hot glue wires in place, which is a commonplace practice, but it is a horse of a completely different color to HOT GLUE THE 510 CONNECTION which is beyond STUPID!! So FYI STAY AWAY FROM THE HCIGAR 35W BOX MOD .. Google it and you will find the thread and video.

Hey Ron, unfortunately not. USPS moves at their own pace, and it may be sitting in customs for inspection. My packages usually move through ISC Jamaica, NY within hours. You can try calling the Jamaica PO with your tracking # to complain??

So, for future reference, stuff coming out of LaGuardia can be processed through Flushing or Jamaica?

received my hana mod from the group buy, so far so good, even my kayfun which only fires on one mod i own fires on this so i'm pretty happy about that....even though this seems like a nice sized mod....hopefully someone clones the vaporshark soon as it seems thinner...or ppl make it look smaller and my hands are just small

IPV2 is as thin as a 18650 device can be.

Sweet! I should have my Kato Square Box from FC tomorrow .. And FYI to all, specifically anyone who thinks that the FT and FC Kato's are the same, they ARE NOT.

FT's Kato clone is from Hotcig and has shallower engravings, and FC's Kato is from Limwell and has deeper engravings .. Now I need to decide what I am going to set the Kato up with, I guess now might be a good time to resurrect my Taifun's. :)

Just got the group buy DNA 30 and the Kato today :rickroll:
That's a TF GT on the Kato :toast:

Sorry that I am late with the Pallas Rose V2 porn ... I finally built it today, and nailed it on the first go. And I maintain my prior statements that this RBA is no bueno for a newbie. Its not a hard build, as much as it is a tedious build. You need to clip and size the leads just right, which may take a few tries, and getting both leads into the positive and negative holes and making sure they are in far enough for the grubs screws to catch is no easy feat! ... as I said "tedious".

My review of the Pallas Rose will prolly post next Thursday or the following Monday. Like many others have said, the Rose V2 is a flavor maker, very possibly dripper flavor in a tank. The juice flow control will take some getting used to in terms of adjusting it once assembled.
