Well I finally got this thing to be vapeable. Cotton 5 wraps and cut it right at the end of the well so it won't stick out. This was vaping great for 1 tank then now I have to take pulls while the airholes are closed to get it to wick. I don't understand why it works flawlessly then all of the sudden it doesn't want to wick. I also went to a auto part store and bought some thicker orings for the chimney which helped the flooding

Maybe the cotton needs to sick out just so slightly into the tank? Perhaps because your wick is not in contact with enough juice (e.g. sitting in a well of it at each end) it isn't wicking properly on its own, requiring you to draw the juice onto it just to get it going?

My set up sounds nearly identical to yours except that my cotton sticks out and it has been chugging along like a happy frieght train since yesterday evening.

How much does the cotton stick out?

My build has the cotton sticking out about 1mm each side. I get the same problem Rizzo describes..... I have to do the airhole closed draws every now and then too.

My first build had the cotton cut very flush, and I had flooding after a few vapes.

My simple easy build. Did lower ohms on this one and didn't double the wick last time and I liked it so doing the same.

2mm silica & 32 gage wire (both guesses cuz I've had them for over a year and I never labeled em...

pop the chimney top back on...

clip the wicks as close as I can and smush em down in flush...

fill but I leave the fill screw loose, took all of 30 secs to do...

Vapes perfect and no dry hits or flooding. Ended up being 1.6 ohms as you can see on the evic.

1.6 ohms is actually working really well in it. With my aga-t2s I always did around 2 ohms, glad I tried lower.

Now to see how long it takes for my snick snack juice I put in it to gunk up. Makes me realize there is a small flaw here... once it's gunked up with sugary juice, I can't just lift the top and dry burn it to clean it, I'll have to take the juice out to do that.

I think both of your guesses are correct because the math adds up. 32 AWG Kanthal with a 4 wrap around a 2mm item will give right at 1.6 ohms. you might want to label them now that you know....for next time.

I don't consider it a big flaw. With my EVODs, even though I can turn them upside down and remove the coil and clean it at any time, I ALWAYS wait until it is near empty and dump the juice and clean the whole thing at the same time anyway.

Just looking at the design, I am wondering if it might be possible to turn this upside down and twist the bottom to unscrew it in a way that leaves the chimney in place. I may try it empty when mine comes in later this week.

Lost my center post insulator. The one I between the well. Any one know where can I get spare one for it?

You probably just need someone that still has one to provide the inside and outside diameters and then get a suitable replacement as some hardware or automotive store. I doubt any of these oring type parts are custom made, they are just standard stuff. I won't have mine until probably Thursday.

OK more like a missing feature then. :) As for the labels... nah, were's the fun in that? It hasn't slowed down yet so maybe it won't gunk up as fast as the aga-t2s did. Really loving this build the best so far too.

I mean just the tiniest little bit. It could be a thickness thing. Too thick and it chokes, too thin and it floods.

But now my formerly stupifying vape has become off tasting and weak. Like a slightly burned gummy bear that had been soaked in my mother's perfume. Not sure if I've choked the cotton and burned it down to bleach or what.

How long is a decently constructed cotton wick supposed to last anyhow?

I am not sure how long cotton should last but I have been using the same cotton in my IGO-L for a week now and I am getting full flavor still.

Sent from wherever i am right now.

I binned the centre post insulator as it was beginning to tear and cause a short not always noticeably with the naked eye until you removed.

Its better off lost to be honest lol what i did was to add small piece of heat shrink works much better and doesn't stick out as much as the insulator plug so you can get the coil nearer the air hole.

Guys,

Woot! Got it in!
Ok so I take it apart to clean it in some white vinegar, and as I am taking it apart SNAP the cheap .... white chimney gasket that is stretched like a politicians truths ... Well That sucked. So I give the parts a vinegar bath, and figure what the hell I will give it a go anyway.

So I wrap a 10 wrap, 28 guage micro coil. Kiss my wife a few times for luck, and check my ohms ... 1.5ohm! Woot! Test fire! BAM! Cherry red, even heating... Wooohoo! I took some sterile cotton, threaded it through ... Leaked like a sieve, but what vape I did get was phenomenal. So I pulled the cotton, and threaded in some 2mm ekowool. Again vaped like a dream, but leaked like a sieve. So I am going to swing by the hardware store tomorrow. And see if I can get as gasket to fit. Hopefully that will fix my leakage.

Negatives:
The damn wire is hard as hell to wrap around the posts. Me and my big .... meat grabbers were struggling.

Positives: Hits like a freight train.

Request: Curtis, could you post more pictures of how this damn puppy comes apart? I want to make sure I am twisting on the right pieces. (don't want to torque the wrong thing.)

Thanks!

GoW

Finally got the fogger setup right after eight tried....
28 gauge 9 wraps microcoil with cotton...
Vape like dream now

Unfortunately my fogger is in use atm and I really have no need to tear it apart again but I'll try and explain where it comes apart. If you look at the adjuster ring you have a bottom lip and upper lip that the adjuster ring bottoms out on, it seperates at the upper lip where the adjusting ring touches when its set for fully open air draw. The easiest way is to screw it onto a mechanical with an adjustable pin until it is bottomed out snug on the 510 connector then grab that upper lip just below the glass and spin it loose, should undo right at the bottom of that lip allowing you to take the ring off next if that makes sense? make sure your 520 pin is not sticking out if your not using a mech with an adjustable pin when you bottom it on your device, the pin uses weak silicone insulators that split easy and will cause shorts so I like to use a mech with an adjustable 510 pin so you can flush the fogger and then just make decent contact on the center pin without over doing it.

Just got a Fogger V2. I initially set it up with the same type of cotton micro coil configuration as Kurtus posted a bit earlier. (very smart technique with the cotton BTW)

This is a great device. Overall it vapes really well. While I really enjoy micro coils with cotton, I also really like white ceramic wicks. The vape is a bit different; both are great, it just provides a different experience. The white ceramic worked really well, so I thought I thought I would share my setup.

Here is my setup:

I initially thought I could do a straight round wick across the airhole and lay it into the channels. It was a no-go, the bottom of the slots are slightly lower than top of the silicon airflow grommet. So it needed a bit of fine tuning with a diamond taper bit.

Atty parts and a custom ceramic.

Hot wrapped ceramic:

Ceramic in the atty and wired to go. 28g @ .9ohms BTW:

Fairly even glow:

Very nice fit with the silicon washer, but....:

Initially it leaked. As close as I was able to get the ceramic to fit atty slot, it just wouldn't hold. So I took a thin wisp of cotton and wrapped it around the ceramic on the inside of the atty at the slot and gently press fit a seal. Booya! Vape is stellar, no flooding or dry hits.

Anyone know of a US source with stock of the fogger v2?

Sorry but everyone seems to be selling out of them as fast as they can get them in. I also know of at least a few Group Buys that placed orders for 100+ each. So these things are going faster than they can be made.

Best I can suggest is go to a site that has them listed and get put on the waiting/notify lists. Then when you get the notification, jump on it like it's a hand grenade and you are trying to save someone.

Here is one place you can get notified: Fogger V2 RBA

Man I am glad I got mine ordered when I did.
