Try curling the wicks inside the cup like i did in the pics above. I've been using that same build for 4 days now, one of the longest lasting cotton wicks I've had yet, and every tank i filled gets vaped dry, no dry hits and barely any leaching/discoloration. But some stuff is just frustrating. Like i said before, I was about to unload/trash this thing quick before i tried that. It's got it's issues, but i do love the vape I'm getting off of it. Good luck.

Looks to me like you would Want to build this like a protank/t3. Put the coil chimney on, see how much wick it will take to lighly fill the slots. Try one and a half mm as mentioned and see if you can see a little bit of light through it at the Corners. When its saturated it will swell and fill the voids. Pull strands to make the wick the thickness needed. Actually you will probably still want a needle space at one or two of the corners so air bubbles can make It into the tank so it will feed. Cut wicks short just a tiny bit sticking out.

It can work if you get it figured out.

So I chaulked it up to a case of my inexperience at building anything but a genny. Told my cuzz to have a shop build it and sold the other to a guy that does builds at a shop. Perhaps I'll try again on a V2 as it looked like it was performing well in the German video, but will wait to hear reviews in English. I hear others in my area are enjoying their's so I know it's possible. Good luck to you guys!

Just got my V1 today. Filled it up after checking the coil for hot spots and I am getting a nasty burnt taste. I seem to have lost my wire when i moved a week ago so I could not build a new wick. I found some XC-166 with a coil on it that I had from from a old driper build so I made that work to try and see if it was the stock wick that was tasting so bad. Nasty taste is still there.

Looks like the stock coil was sitting on the insulator under it and burned it a bit. Anyone else having issues like this?

A couple more slots across the bottom of the base helped with better air flow (after cutting back the insulator first). Wick slots slightly enlarged, 30 gauge nichrome @ 2 ohm with rolled cotton. Really working good now.

It appears that that insulator under the coil has been "removed" and recessed on the v2, other than that the coil platform appears about the same on the v2.

How did you make the extra slots on the bottom? And did you deepen the already existing ones?
I enlarged the wick slots with a diamond bit and Dremel.
I cut two more slots across the bottom of the base with two cut off wheel stacked with Dremel ($10.95 Harbor Freight clone)
