I agree with Scope666. For ~30 bucks you get an atty that gives you the ability to get an outstanding vape. While your not getting a high end atty quality, (fit, finish, QC), its what you do with it that matters (and quality is really not bad - similar to the RSST). Its not the simplest to set up, but it certainly isnt that difficult to get it set up. Its in the slight tweaks you do that make the difference.

Dont worry if you get a grommet that sticks-up (mine did). A quick slice with an xtacto knife removed the extended portion in less than 10 seconds. You really dont need it.

All the flaws in this device (if you by chance get them) can be corrected, thanks to a lot of the contributors in this thread.

Go for it.

Agreed on all points ... and remember the "Todd Trick" which is to use the tiniest o-ring in the package for the positive pin. I took the pin out (it unscrews) slipped the o-ring on, and then put it back in. It keeps that pin centered perfectly ALL THE TIME.

I was posting a picture of the mod (DHX-TS) in another thread so I thought I'd post it here to since it's sporting a v2 Fogger

Is the Fogger V2 worth getting? I read some posts about burnt rubber taste, looking at the various pictures of the atomizer deck, the coil comes awfully close to the center grommet...

Have it for days now, I'm running a 12 wrap 28g coil with cotton, & as I said before, the best vape I've ever had

I would wait and get a russian or russian91%. The fogger v2 is a extremely fiddly to set up. The glass tank split into two the first day I got it. It is just not designed very well at all. It has a tasty vape but doesn't come close to producing the thick vapor I get with my other devices. Its a cheapo device compared to the Kayfuns and the Russians.

This seems to be your individual problem set, for me it was simple to setup, simple to run, great looking, well made and great vape

I bought a Fogger for my dad and spent a couple days getting familiar with it before finally setting it up and giving it to him. My usual set up of a 32g micro with a minimal amount of cotton leaked like crazy. But I switching over to cotton yarn and pulled a strand out so it wasn't too tight. Vapes great and no leaking.

While Todd's trick is certainly useful safety measure for those of us who kept having the thing short out on us, I have to remind all the thread readers that it did NOT fix the problem on my Fogger v2. It only alleviated it until the positive screw/pin eventually pushed its way past that added o-ring from repeated screwings on and off of the Fogger from my mech.

So just one cotton yarn piece with a strand pulled out? Did you use the o ring on top of it? I'm getting cotton yarn today to try it out.

Here is kind of a side by side and some notes

That seems like a lot of work, good job! I wish I have the know how and equipment to make such modifications. When I got my fogger, the first thing I thought I should do was to shorten the air flow adjustment ring so it would expose the air holes completely. This is probably a job for a machine shop right?

A machine shop isn't absolutely necessary. Some patience, a flat surface, sand paper/file/etc, and a lot of rubbing back and forth would work.

From my measurements the 4 holes above the center pin disk are less area than the 3 external holes, but I forgot to measure the ID of the center pin shaft.

Yup just one strand pulled out. It even works with 2 pulled out. If it was my atty and not my dad's I'd use 2 strands with the o-ring, but I rebuild my dad's stuff so I wanted the wick to last a little longer before I have to change it out. I put the o-ring on with 3 strands but it worked fine without it, it just stifled the juice flow a little.
