My fiance is working on implementing some alternative heating sources in the garage. Horse manure, as we have plenty of it. I'm 'onna share this with him event though it was for AdrenaLynn.
watch the kapadanze generator on youtube..its an earth battery that works by sending a low voltage high frequency signal at the earth then using a coil as a reciever to collect the higher voltage that returns...its pretty cool...and while Im on the subject has anyone seen the wiitricity? its a cool tesla design that transmits and recieves wireless electricity that people are finally developing and using onn tv's computer's sattellites etc...
As long as we're satisfying the laws of Thermodynamics, I'm happy enough. Break 'em and I'll throw the book at you.
Hopefully that will be something interesting. It's still burning fossil fuels though. I'm holding out for
Hydrogen and Oxygen aren't "fossil fuels". Not in the pure sense of the word, and much less so than solar.

just a few weeks ago i was reading up on hydrogen electrolosys to see if a mini cell would be a practical application for ecigs delivering ejuice.
i can certainly say most likely not.....maybe at a minimum of 5v however....you definitely can power assist your car with it.
like they say......2072 is the supposed year that the last fossil fuel car comes off the road.
NASCAR stockcars powered by nothing but electricity.......it''ll be amazing but, really really quite. Bristol might lose its "Thunder Valley" accolade.8-o

Not practical, but certainly usable. In native form they're HV devices. A regulator or switching power supply delivers whatever voltage you need in the application. But dragging a working example around today is mildly impractical. Although Jadoo's portables are pretty rockin'!
Glad you found that link of some interest. All I know is a plug goes in and I get T,V, or light! Still working on how the electricity gets to the plug..

The wall is full of electricity. Like water, it will come out any hole it can find, and that's the reason for those two little slots in the wall socket.
If you don't have anything plugged into one, the electricity will run out all over the floor!
Right 99% of Hydrogen is produced by extracting it from fossil fuels. And all the current installations are running the tech with Natural Gas.

I would differ that hydrogen is "produced". At least not terrestrially, but you might say I'm mincing words.
The largest available source is, of course, our oceans. It's just cheaper to extract it as a product of otherwise energy dense sources. If we weren't using the fossil fuels for other things it would be far more expensive to extract it from there than it would be from water.
We're here to help, MK! The more we save you in electricity, the more you can spend on chargers for all those batteries you've collected.
Hydrolysis is far too expensive (orders of magnitude) and where do you think the electricity will come from for that chemical reaction? Fossil fuels of course.

There are a *lot* of new methods being explored for extraction. Many looking pretty darned promising since creating drinking water for the wastes is a fairly high priority too.. And there is absolutely no requirement that the energy come from fossil fuels, not even fiscal. Again - the only reason that it makes fiscal sense (as I noted above) today is that it's a biproduct of other uses.
