Brad, not trying to hurt your feelings, but I have had encounters with adventists and....no thank you. I was told, and this was by an evil little man ..... not because he was adventist was he evil, he is just mean......I was told that all Sunday goers will be the ones receiving the mark of the beast. The End Times Seminars that they hold are never upfront about who they are, plus they teach Revelation falsely. I know this because a close Christian friend that I trust completely went to one and the 2nd night, she walked out and wanted to yell 'blasphemer,' but didn't. She took her friend by the hand and out they went. At the end of Revelation, there is a harsh warning.....

Rev. 22:18-19 I warn everyone who listens to the statements of the prophecy in this book: If anyone shall add anything to them, God will add and lay upon him the plagues that are recorded and described in this book.

19) And if anyone cancels or takes away from the statements of the book of this prophecy, God will cancel and take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the city of holiness, which are described and promised in this book.

So, the way I see it, they fall under these Scriptures and I don't even want to be around them. I will say this, however, that I was not able to dispute the Sabbath being Saturday and it was okay to change it to Sunday. I searched Scriptures and found no concrete proof that will nullify the commandment 'Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy.' So, my final thought on the entire subject is keep both days. But other than that, things are great!

There are many denominations with their own private school. I taught in one for a few years. The successes mentioned are actually quite common among small denominational schools. We had 24 seniors my last year. All went to college regardless of economic background, race or nationality and they all scored similarly on the college entrance tests ranging between 19-28. Some pretty successful kids to say the least.

It was a good article, but I'd bet that most private christian schools rate up there at the same level. Probably nothing special about Adventist schools, just the fact that it's a private christian based school.

Any parent that spends money to send their kid to a private school is going to take their education more seriously. That parent is probably more involved then the majority of the public school kid and the kids might be expected to preform better since the parent is paying for it.

I think small community based charter schools are the best thing, and home schooling too.
