Here are a few of a tranchula that crossed my path a few years ago in Punta Cana. I didn't get too close as I was trying to observe its natural behavior. I was able to get a few shots before it disappeared into the brush and weeds on the other side of the road.

This is an ichnumonid which is a parasitic wasp.

This is another type of parasitic wasp called a chalcid.

I have a few more interesting shots that I will post a little later.

I love insects so much that I majored in entomology in college. I work with Asian long horned beetles for the USDA. I will have to post some of my photos that I have on my work PC since there are several insect lovers in the group.

Great spider photos!

My first A in college, first semester and way too much partying, was entomology (pre-vet). Only course I loved back then. We keep a dissecting microscope in kitchen to look at "bugs" and other things. Out here people/workers are threatened to get a broken knee if they intentionally harm a tarantula. We have to rescue them from inside so dogs don't "play" with them.

Photographed the full moon rising last night. This is the town library. The library is an old railroad station building that the town recently invested money into to convert it to the village library. I used software called The Photographers Emphemeris to plan this photo. Its freeware to desktop PC. It allows you to track the moon and the sun any time of day any where on earth. It gives azimuth and altitude times of the sun and moon and integrates that into Google Earth. One can preplan shots. This software is amazing for those that like to shoot nature and landscape work. For this photo I knew exactly where to stand and at what time to be there. The Photographer Ephemeris let me know how high the moon would be and where in relation to the library the moon would be.

Do you have any openings? That looks like my kind of job :)

I have always worked alone, sorry. But, you are starting in the right place - I found my way here from Val Verde County in west Tx many years ago.......:)
