Hello!

A few days ago, I walked into an ecig shop and bought a Kangertech e-smart on a whim. I'm quite happy with it, haven't smoked an analog for a few days, and I'd like to order some different flavors and clearomizers before I go on a trip for a few weeks. I've been reading around online for a few hours, and I've had very little luck figuring out what clearomizer will work with the battery I have.

Different sites list the e-smart as either having 510 or 808 threads, different comparisons of the threads show either male or female threads on the battery, and yet other sources say that the e-smart battery has a slightly different diameter than a standard battery. One site states that the e-smart kit comes with a CE4, and the CE4 and CE5 are supposed to be interchangeable, so I thought I could get a CE5 (apparently I can't post the link to the one I'm looking at). However, that CE5 is listed as using an eGo connector, which if I understand correctly is a connector with two sets of threads, which my battery does not have. I also found quite a few people saying that the world of buying ecig parts is pretty confusing, but that's beside the point.

So: I'm fairly certain the connector on the e-smart is a 510. Is this correct? If I get the CE5 linked above, will it fit on the e-smart battery? Will it be a slightly different diameter than the battery? Am I better off just scrapping the e-smart and getting something else? Am I being horribly dense and all the answers are right before my eyes?

I've included a couple of photos of the unit I bought.

Thanks in advance.

It's not a 510 thread, but then again, neither is the CE4. A 510 thread is male on the head, female on the battery. A CE4 (AFAIK) is an ego thread. Both the ego and 808 threads are male on the battery, female on the head.

Many batteries have "510/ego" threading, which means that they can take either a 510 head or an ego thread. The battery connector is threaded both on the inside (for the 510) and on the outside (for the ego).

Your battery is either ego-threaded or 808 threaded (hopefully someone else here will know). It's not a 510.

The battery diameter doesn't matter (except possibly for looks). The connector is what matters.

Well 510, eGo and 808D are all different. You can usually find adapters for them, if you need to.

A 510 connection on the battery portion will have female threads. An eGo will have male threads on the battery, and often will also have 510 threads on the inside of the same connection. I haven't owned an 808D threaded device but you will need the appropriate adapter if you want to pair it with a differently threaded battery.

OK, Ace, now you're screwing with my head! Posting a reply before I posted the original????? ;-)
lol sorry, I think you were right in your post. I think they make them in two different threadings bc some sites are saying 808 and others are saying 510. The one that I have happens to be the 510 threading. Wow that was confusing lol.

The connection on the battery in the picture definitely looks like an 808, although there are variations that some vendors have used that are not easily identified from a picture. The female threads are a give-away that it's not a 510, though. Odds are it's 808 threading. Here's a link to an 808 clearo for reference.

Thanks for the help guys! Turns out most of my confusion came from misinterpreting one article. I guess I'll just go ahead and get an 808 clearomizer then. And yeah, I was asking about diameter because I'd rather the clearomizer and battery be the same for aesthetics, but we'll see how that works out when my delivery arrives.

Sorry about the picture quality, looks like they got downsized using the forum attachment system and I'm not allowed to post links to a higher resolution.

Thanks again.
