Hi lisa,

Thanks. That glow off the earth is called "earth shine." No good reason to be awake at 3:30 AM. Mom used to say nothing good can happen after 12 midnight. Guess thats why I am here.

I thought of you the other night....I was up at 0330 and noticed the moon rising above the hills in harvest fashion, though only a sliver. The shadowed side of the moon was backlit by the reflection of the sun off the earth. It was beautiful and I was kicking myself for not having the right gear. I knew you would have loved to have taken the shots. *sigh*

unfortunately no but I'm still having fun with it. I'm going to join a local local astronomy club I went out to a beginners night last week end those guys have some serious scopes

I spent a few days on Chateaugay Lake in the Adirondack Mountins in NYS. MY cousin has camp there and its the best get-a-way that I know of. A truely beautiful place to spend time. We blow off some nice fireworks every year around the 4th of July and family members come to get together at this yearly event. Usually there are about 55-60 people that show up and bring heaping dishes of food. Here's a few pics from Chateaugay Lake.
