Thanks! I can cook so this will hopefully be pretty easy although I was raised in the school of not really measuring anything. Lol! That's how my grandmother cooked. Somehow she just knew how much she needed to add of everything. Guess that was that old southern cook in her. I miss her homemade biscuits.

Sorry...I digress...but those biscuits were on point!! Lol

I've been playing with the calculator app on iTunes as well as the e juice me up one. I think I should be ok. I just can't wait to place my order & get started. I'm sure it'll be a lot of fun!

Also if you need aditional help u can use this thread here --> http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/diy-e-liquid/406393-super-easy-diy-method-tape-2-a.html

Best of luck, and welcome to the club :D

Yes, +1 for the DIY ninjas!

Buy nic at just above the % that you want to vape at, then add flavours. No fuss.

You may later want to buy higher concentrations of nicotine to save even more money, however you will get all the confidence you need from doing it this way first, and you can't make any horrible mistakes with nicotine percentages.

Are you far enough along to teach me how to do this yet. :)

Lol! Not even close. I'm in the middle of planning & getting ready for my best friends pre-wedding stuff...engagement dinner, bridal shower & bachelorette party next weekend. So I probably won't even get started until after next weekend. I'm just getting my research together at this point.

Hope Im not beginning to annoy you guys. If you don't mind please tell me what else I would need to order aside from syringes, bottles, flavors & sweetener if I start here
36mg nic base VG - 120 ml or more
120 ml or more of PG no nic

Just want to make sure I'm not missing anything essential.

If I recall your OP, you like a 70/30 mix so it would be better to buy your nic in 100% PG. The less you have to work with VG, the better as its so thick. I never want to work much with "thick" especially if its the one containing nic. I like a 67/33 mix and I use 100% PG nic so what I'm saying is how I do it. Also, some here say they like buying their nic already mixed in the PG/VG percentages and, to me, that just complicates things when you get into the calculator. Another reason for staying with 100% ingredients is that, while I often buy 36mg strength to make juice at 18 mg or less, I do sometimes buy a stronger nic base and then just add the required 100% PG to what is already 100% PG nic base to cut it down before storage. PG is more anti-fungal/bacterial. And, if I was lowering an already 70/30, I would have to add two ingredients to it with more measuring. This way I'm always working with the 36mg strength from my storage which is what I'm used to and my favorite recipes are calculated for.

Edit: sorry had to answer the phone...a tip:

If you have a feed store nearby, the syringes there cost a lot less (29 cents) and come in every imaginable size from one cc up to humongous (I guess for bulls.) I prefer them because every one I've gotten from an ejuice vendor are the really cheaply made ones with painted on gradations that wear off very quickly while the gradations of feed store ones are actually etched in and don't wear off. Needles from anywhere are standard and fit all syringes. You can buy them cheaper at feed stores too but they won't be blunt tip. I buy the longest (I think 3 and a half or 4 inch) and largest thickness (bigger the number, smaller the circumference.. thinner... btw not the other way around LOL) blunt tip from vendors especially for working with VG. The longer the handier for reaching into deep bottles.

Just wanted to throw my :2c: in...I won't be much help as I'm new to this as well...but a heads up on Mt Baker Vapor DIY flavors...I had placed two large orders with them for the regular juice and LOVED every one of them...then saw how cheap their prices are for the DIY flavorings and thought...its a win win!! They sell it cheap for a 15ml bottle...plus I figured since I already love their flavors, it would be great...but it was not. I ordered nearly 50 bucks in DIY flavoring from them...they are not concentrated...so you have to use LOTS of flavorings. Don't get me wrong...the flavors are good...but you'll run out quick just trying to get it to actually taste like something. I will say this though...their sweetener is REALLY good! You just have to use so much of it.

RTSVapes dot com has about the cheapest prices I could find for Nic and flavorings...They are in North Carolina...I've already placed 2 orders from them for big things of Nic and flavorings...didn't really need the second order..but I'm trying to stock up in case the FDA does put a strain on everything. They shipped out really quick...think it took 3 days from the day I ordered till the day it was in my mail box.

I just got My Nic PG base then a bottle of VG..I was wanting 70/30...so figured it was better to have the Nic in with the PG.

Here's the bad part...I suck at Math...big time! So...I just put my flavorings in a 15ml bottle...then filled up the bottle about 3/4 of the way full with my Nic/Pg and the rest VG...every one I've made so far has turned out pretty good...since I finally got some flavorings from FA & TFA..when I was trying to get MBV flavorings to work...it took forever trying to get enough flavoring in there to even taste it.

Anyhow...don't try it my way...because I'm sure its not the safest practice..but it works for me and hubby!

Good luck!!

Sorry, I didn't read the whole thread. What flavors do you like?

There are a few suppliers that sell their own flavorings- You could try their juice- if you like it, pick up their flavorings. Super easy and you save tons of money. To me, that's the hardest part of DIY finding a great flavoring.

Vapor Bomb, Vaporite ,Want2Vape all sell the flavorings they use in pre-made e-liquid.

Thanks Caridwen! I really love cinnamon & sweet flavors. My favorites are cinnamon roll, banana nut bread, blueberry muffin, blue-zazz from (HDV), appleberry, sweet peach flavors etc... That's why I'm so excited about this. I can perfect what I know I already like & make some small mixes to try new things! I really want to...at some point as I know I might not be able to get it right from the beginning...but I want to mix up a great sweet creamy coffee mix or add something to the ones I already have to make them better. Luckily I still have about a week or so to look into different things before I really start to place my orders. Thanks for the links!

It's probably not as cheap (not sure) as buying flavoring from VZ, TFA, etc. and mixing them yourself but it's a great entry into DIY.

For 20% flavoring of 30 ml, you'd need about 6 ml of flavoring. I never use that much, I don't like so much flavoring. But I have tried the flavoring from VB and Vaporite and flavoring from both are good.

I like fruity stuff so I get most of them from Vapor Zone- the super concentrated flavors. You only need 2.5% when you use them.

i had a question about storage, for the life of me i cant seem to find that thread. as i remember its glass bottles wrapped in bubble wrap stored in freezer ..is that right?? and does it matter if they are colored (was wondering if i can use mason jars since they are on hand). wl seems to be running low on bottles.

For bulk nicotine base: Decant into smaller bottles, preferrably glass. Fill to the top with minimum air space as this minimises air contact, and also minimise agitating air into the base while you are decanting. If they are going into the freezer then they don't really need to be dark bottles - not much light in a freezer! Put dates on the bottles and use the oldest first. You should get a couple of years out of nicotine base in the freezer if it's 100% PG. PG is more stable than VG.

The bubble wrap is optional. Presumably it's to stop the bottles getting broken. I would prefer to stack them in a plastic freezer container and only use packing materials to stop them rolling around - better organised.
