I've been DIY'ing more than a year and don't have that much flavors. When I started, I started with a couple flavors and a sweetener. I just thought I'd mention it so people that are new wont be scared to start DIY and think they have to make such a huge investment. Things I've learned: 1. Most of the flavors I've purchased have been used once or not at all yet. 2. Most flavors and recipes you make won't be what you really enjoy vaping. 3. Eventually you will find 2 or 3 recipes you really like alot and that's all you will want to buy later. 4. I have come to love the alcohol based flavorings and they aren't perfumery unless I use too much. 5. All flavorings will be perfumy if you use too much despite what brand it is. :) DIY can be alot of fun as well as a bit frustrating sometimes. Sometimes I had to step away for awhile and try it again at a later time and read more about it. Hoosier on here is a member and has a real good blog in his description about DIY that was very helpful.

Grabbed a couple more today!

I think you'll be good at this. Your starter list is fairly similar to what I started with.

Small amt of nic, pg, vg...about 30 flavors....lots of syringes....maybe 10 bottles

So twist my arm already...
You've inspired me to get started. Thank you, and curse you at the same time.
I mean that in the nicest possible way.

Really, I do.

:)

Instead of adding further clutter to your thread, I've posted up my first order in blog format:

I absolutely understand! Please please please do not let me frighten you! I by no means intend too! My personality has always been to go all in. I did the same with premixed juice. Do not take my list as the list that everyone should have. This is just me & my obsessive personality & weeks of saving. Please start & purchase at your own pace! Do not let me scare you guys!

If you have a fruit blend mixed up vape it tonight.....it won't change much at all unless alcohol is in it...

You didn't put Grandma's Anisette in it, did you?

:p

Crap....u didn't get any KOOLADA! That stuff is great for summertime (hot weather) vapin....

Add 3 or 4% to a fruit blend...omg...its like a blend of fruitjuice with ice cubes

Dang! No I didn't! I kept going back & forth with that one. The description was throwing me off! For some reason I was thinking it was more menthol & now that I hate Newports I hate menthol! Lol! Oh well! Not like I need an excuse to make another order but ill put that on the next one. I'm going to try & behave for a week! :2cool:

Oh, no worries at all, Chimney. I just wanted some poor souls to understand they don't need as many flavors to get started in DIY. When I started, I got banana and strawberry and cotton candy (sweetener). I figured each flavor by itself would be good and both together would give me a third flavor. Of course, eventually I bought alot more and honestly I have had some about a year that I've never opened. I was just trying to let people know they can start simpler if they need to. :) I got my son a starter DIY of nic. Base, PG, VG and 5 flavor extracts for Christmas one year for about $30. It was enough to make quite a bit of juice. He liked menthol crystals and cotton candy, plus black and mild :)

Dee Dee is right. I have over 140 flavors but rarely use more then 25-30 on a regular basis. I have not tried them all, because I've had success with 20 recipes that I really like. Around 20, I gave "Complexed" a list of what I had steeped and in stock a few days ago.

I'm only one person. Its insane to have more then 600 mil of ejuice steeped. I gotta start finishing up bottles before I create and make more. I don't really sell but I have done some trades with people for hardware I want.

You're a pro Red_Bird! I based my order off of things that I've vaped that i know i liked or the ones I kinda liked but want to improve & make my own. And of course I threw in a couple for fun & after reading a couple of recipes. And like DeeDee said, at the price WL sales flavors its a good way to experiment & try different things. I'm gonna have to steal a couple of your recipes! I really want to master a really good coffee with cream & sugar! I still haven't been able to find my coffee vape & it's driving me nuts!!

Coffee was my starter e-juice, and I'm looking forward to making my own as well. That said, have you looked into making your own coffee extract? Somewhere in the course of my research I found a discussion about using PG, coffee, and a microwave to create said extract. Interesting stuff, especially since the participants claimed success with regular and flavored coffee grounds.

Yum.

I didn't order any coffee flavors 'cause I really want to try this. Yay! Another experiment I don't have time for!
