It can actually play The Wall in its entirety without my even touching it, I think. Fretboard is darkened under several strings from the bloody blisters of teenaged-angst-playing-24-7...
Sorry - I had posted about the body in another thread. Should have noted it here. It's a shiny new 5DmkII, replacing my aging 20D. The glass I've had for years. '04 maybe? '05? Right when it first came out...
The image is just Lightroom's rendering of the Camera Raw with no retouch (there's no sidecar), and its scale (crop-and-scale in the second). So it's as close to straight out of the camera as I can reasonably get it. Lightroom 3.3 doesn't do the greatest down-sample to jpeg on earth, and that's a jpeg-medium-high, so there's a fair bit of DCT artifacting too.

Very nice. I like the long answers, they help me learn more. I like the depth of field that you get from that lens. My favorite lens right now is my Canon 1.8 50mm, for two reasons . . . it's way cheaper than the 1.4 for no real noticeable difference, and the dof on it is amazing! After seeing your shots, I now know what my next long lens dream is.
A new 5D . . . how sweet! Congratulations! That's what I'll move to eventually. I've always loved taking pictures, but never had a "real" camera. I researched cameras and found the 5D was what I wanted, so I got a Rebel to try out first.
