Hello all

I've been browsing the threads on this forum over the last few days and have decided to make the leap to vaping! It makes sense to me as it is the Nicotine that I am addicted to and not all the other rubbish!

So, I wanted to drop by and say hello. I'm sure it will be a pleasure to make your acquaintance as I develop upward and onward from Newbie status!

Cheers

I guess I should also mention what my intentions are in respect to Vaping..

I've been viewing the various threads and have been trying to get my head around all the options. I am not keen on working my way up to the ideal solution. I'd rather just go through the learning curve once and not think about it anymore. As a result, I'm thinking of biting the bullet and going for the Provari V2..

Thoughts?

wow. I am new to this but even I know what the provari costs. probably would have saved me a few buck$ if I had spent a little more in the beginning on a better pv though.

This is what I did. I went from a gas station kit to a provari. I feel like it was worth it... I figured I would end up spending more stepping my way up through the various models until I got to a really nice one anyway, so I just took the plunge.

Good luck!

Well, if you want to knock out all the entry level stuff and go straight to the top, then by all means, get the Provari, and get a Vivi Nova tank to go with it. That price though, OUCH! From what I've read here they're worth it, and in the long run, will give the best service. In some cases it just make sense to go for quality, and skip the Walmart bargain basement stuff. If you go for a vv that's lesser priced, make sure what you get is a sealed system, so liquid won't accidentally get to where you don't want it. In that case, I would say the eGo Twist to start out with.

I just made the switch this week. Still getting used to it and think it is definitely an acquired taste. I need some time to experiment with PG/VG %s, different e liquids, nic levels, etc. before I can see myself eliminating analogs completely.

Until you figure out if vaping will be an adequate substitute for you, you may want to start out with something a little less expensive. I went for an eGo c Twist with a few clearomizers and am happy with it thus far.

do yourself a favor and start with a twist. You may buy a provari and get rolling and hate vaping all together. what a chunk of wasted change that would be. I started with an ego kit to get myself used to vaping and moved up to a twist and THEN took the leap. I will say it's a great PV and am about to take the leap into rebuildables. It has not only got me off of cigarettes but it has become a hobby. There is soooooooooo much stuff out there I want but am very selective about what I buy. If you have already tried vaping and know how it tastes and feels then by all means take the plunge. I'll tell you one thing I love my provari but I still want more and more everyday. Good luck with whatever you do and welcome to ECF!

haha I feel you on that. I have to hold myself back everyday. I have carts loaded up with stuff from several different venders. I am so greedy. I am a slickdealer so I usually buy first and think later but this is a totally different beast (no returns). this whole vaping thing has been an experience.

Thanks for all the responses - really useful! I did have my mind set on the Provari but I am beginning to wonder whether this is overkill - especially as I have never tried an electronic cigarette before..

I guess my greatest concern is that if I were to start on the low end that the experience would vary significantly from smoking conventional cigarettes in which case I may not stick with it..

How does the ego twist compare with the provari? Is there a big difference?

On a separate note- can anyone comment on the health benefits from making the switch to vaping e.g. Increased sense of smell and taste, increased stamina etc?

Cheers!

provari is a truck....it will take a bit of a learning curve, but the biggest thing to get around is your atty ohms vs. vaporizer volts....so look here at this handy chart:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v202/trinitrophenol/unled66-1.jpg

now that you see this, you just match your atomizer ohms to a green zone and you'll be A-O fine....provari is expensive, yes...but worth the investment in the long run if you're willing to dump the money right off.

edit: also if you really feel as if you want to get a feel for vaping first: grab a few disposables from the local gas station (if you can find them, the square disposables are actually quite nice) and if it works for you, then go with your gut and pull the trigger.

twist will drop off in power as the charge goes, the provari will give you the same vape the first vape on a fresh battery until that battery dies....also the twist is far less accurate, and kind of hard to read the numbers....the battery WILL last longer on the provari because simply, its a larger battery.

health benefits: its like quitting without quitting, my sense of smell and taste is back to almost pre-cigarette levels....i breath better, i sleep better, i feel great.

hope that helps.

I just got the Provari and love it but it's heavy and I don't want to take it out and about. I have plenty of backups so its a non issue. Still I think you should get a first pv such as a twist or spinner and then move on. There is a bit of a learning curve with resistance/ohms/amps and deciding what you like best at first. It can become costly finding a juice you like some are nasty and trying them can be expensive. Once you get all that squared away get the Provari.

It certainly has been an experience for me. I THINK I am going to get a Joyetech eGo-T Kit with 1000 mAh batteries, from myvaporshop for $67.84 in the next few days. (Use: 5ecf code) I really want a Provari, but I'm not able to spend over $200 just yet.

Roll Tide!

Good point Arxin, it's probably best to start with a well reviewed kit at a cheaper price than a provari to make sure vaping is for you... And odds are it will be. Once you know it's for you, its good to have a backup kit anyway!

When I first started it took a little getting used to but then when I slipped up and tried a real cigarette months later, the real smoke tasted like a soggy stinky ash tray, I realized that I'd much rather the cleaner taste of vaping... Good luck :)
