... E cigarettes don't blow up. There isn't enough energy in a battery to blow up. batteries are not explosive devices.

:danger:..............................:danger:

Dude, I know you must be either a newbie or just plain ignorant!!

The Li Ion batteries that we use in our e-cigs CAN and DO EXPLODE or VENT HOT GASES which can cause a FIRE or release LETHAL GASES. There are confirmed incidents of this happening and reported here on ECF. Just do a topic search if you don't believe me:

I have personal experience of a "protected" Li Ion battery that vented by blowing both ends out, melting the casing, and venting gasses hot enough to start a fire.

DO NOT be giving other new vapors a false sense of security with their batteries; that is an extreme disservice to others. These little things contain an impressive amount of stored energy, and if they suffer a hard short the above can easily happen.

Yeah, they explode, and melt, and vent -- most of the time it's user error. Batteries have much improved circuitry or safer chemistry presently. However, please be safe and sensible.

I highly recommend that every person who uses electronic cigarettes to read the below information. Some basic knowledge and common sense can go a long way to prevent an accident from happening. The batteries that we use are "generally" quite safe to use IF proper precautions and common sense is used. However, we must respect the power that is contained in these devices and the potential they have to do bad things.

Not logical; subjective pretense. They don't explode any more than phones explode. They don't have an impressive charge of energy. Venting gasses and incineration aren't explosions. Just because someone on the internet said it happened doesn't mean it happened. Your caught up in some highly technical notion of the truth and using it in an absurd way to create an illusion of danger.

I got to get back on my exploding tablet with an impressive (by comparison) 9000Mah battery... Will I survive? No one knows because they explode.

Your ignorance is truly amazing. Baditude did not pass on information because he read it somewhere on the internet, in fact, he showed pictures of batteries of his that vented. I also had a near catastrophe with lion batteries in my mechanical mod.

You can lead a horse to water, but you can't force it to drink it.

Good day to you.

So you are saying that a PV can't Explode?

Wow.

That's a good idea, Amish3006. I travel most weekends and this is perfect for carrying some vape gear. What size is the one in your pic (the 1000, 2000, or the 3000)?
PS: love the username!

I've got a decent sized otterbox that i just throw in the passenger seat of my work truck. I carry extra stuff because I can't make up my mind most of the time.

Perhaps some sort of chamber that's meant to sustain blasts may be appropriate... drawing on my 90mah Eroll feels like playing Russian roulette sometimes, with a revolver made with 597,000,000 chambers and one bullet with enough explosive charge to to equal the damage of a snapping rubber band.
There is definitely a continuum of danger here, with an eRoll at the very lowest end of that continuum.

An Ego that goes haywire will not explode, but it has a good chance of starting a fire.
And an unvented tube mod with 18650 batteries is a like carrying a potential pipe bomb in your hand.

With vents, the same mod becomes a potential rocket ship.

Is there a Full Moon tonight?

Maybe it is the Planets are Aligned or Something because I have been reading some Bizarre Posts on the ECF Today.

You can't fix stupid.

On the other hand my thanks to Baditude for an informative post. Though they are extremely rare I've done the research and know they happen and am grateful for the information to help prevent even this rare event.

Yes batteries CAN get hot, rupture, leak, and even cause a fire. However so will the batteries in your cell phone and tablet. So anything you do to eCigs based on batteries you better do to your iPhone as well...but be ready for a fight because Apple isn't going to let their stuff be regulated or pulled from shelves very easily.

What these batteries will NOT do is "explode". A fire cracker explodes. To be considered an explosion, there has to be a rapid expansion of force and a report (which is the sound). Be very careful how you tread here unless you want all batteries banned and destroy the entire cell phone industry.
