Dude, I know you must be either a newbie or just plain ignorant!!

The Li Ion batteries that we use in our e-cigs CAN and DO EXPLODE or VENT HOT GASES which can cause a FIRE or release LETHAL GASES. There are confirmed incidents of this happening and reported here on ECF. Just do a topic search if you don't believe me:

I have personal experience of a "protected" Li Ion battery that vented by blowing both ends out, melting the casing, and venting gasses hot enough to start a fire.

DO NOT be giving other new vapors a false sense of security with their batteries; that is an extreme disservice to others. These little things contain an impressive amount of stored energy, and if they suffer a hard short the above can easily happen.
Yeah, they explode, and melt, and vent -- most of the time it's user error. Batteries have much improved circuitry or safer chemistry presently. However, please be safe and sensible.
I highly recommend that every person who uses electronic cigarettes to read the below information. Some basic knowledge and common sense can go a long way to prevent an accident from happening. The batteries that we use are "generally" quite safe to use IF proper precautions and common sense is used. However, we must respect the power that is contained in these devices and the potential they have to do bad things.
