Today should be WTA day. By the time I wake up there should be two bottles of fruit flavors here waiting for me.
already emptied, cleaned and put new heads in my aerotank and pt3 in anticipation.
unfortunately, I also have an appointment with my pulmonologist today. I hate doctors appointments. They always scold me for my bad life choices. :D
at least this time around I can tell them I've made a good choice, at least with one of my self destructive behaviors.

I visited my regular asthma doc in January. He doesn't lecture me, just asks if I still smoke, and how much, and writes it all down as he reminds me that it would be good if I quit, it's very dangerous for anyone but especially an asthmatic, etc. I told him, when I visited in Jan, that I was about to attempt a REAL EFFORT with e-cigs, to try and get off the real ones. He was very pleased to hear that, and very supportive; said he'd heard good things about quitting using those, from other patients, and wished me luck. I literally *cannot wait* till my next appt, to tell him of my success. :thumb:

Oh, and my vaping-instead-of-smoking-OR-snacking is also bearing fruit. I weighed 147 when I visited him in January, which I consider to be about 12 lbs overweight (the holidays always kill me, all the yummy stuff around to eat -- pumpkin pie with a ton of whipped cream! chocolate covered cherries!!! ARGHH!). I weighed myself day before yesterday, and I'm now at 140 -- only 5 lbs to go!!! This just *confirms* for me that a great deal of my snacking was because I was jonesing for a smoke, but didn't feel like going outside -- watching TV or something.

:rickroll:
Happy Dance!

so... it's too early to make a proper judgement.
that being said...
since i filled my tanks with the WTA ejuice from aroma ejuice... i haven't had a death stick. i don't doubt that i'll have a before bed death stick and one in the morning, but this is the only thing that has actually been able to satisfy me not only after a meal (one of my biggest triggers) but even while drinking. no other form of nicotine replacement therapy has even come close, even vaping regular ejuice.
so, it definitely has potential.
this just might be the thing that gets me fully off the death sticks. so, thank you Dvap, for coming up with the concept and developing the method. ya just might have saved or at least extended my life.
i seem to burn through it quickly- finished off almost an entire tank in my kanger aerotank in about 5 hours. i'm totally okay with that if it continues to work though, just means i'll have to stay stocked up.
arg. okay, death stick now- but only because my mvp 2.0 is spazzing out and registering all my tanks as shorted or too low ohms. it just says 'non'. grrr. i'll mess with it in a few. all my tanks can't be shorted out so it's got to be something shorting out it's 510 connection. guess back-ups are a good thing.
i had some other things to say but now i'm distracted.
oh, someone (i think andriad or wvlady) mentioned using peppermint flavor to jump start their taste buds. i can't stand mint of any kind. does anyone know of a flavor that's not mint that will serve as a palate cleanser (like ginger and wasabi at a sushi place, but obviously not those flavors)? :vapor:

Glad to hear the WTA is having the desired effect. Let me know how the 24 mg unflavored WTA from Aroma works when it arrives; I think it might even slow down your usage a bit. It's probably bold of me to say, but I believe it's the single best eliquid on the planet... going away.

WTA is definitely my answer. i wanna proclaim it's awesomeness from the hilltops, but i'm pretty sure no one would hear me with all the traffic and gunshots and sirens and other noise that comes along with L.A. county.
i'm loving it, and have no doubt that in time my morning and nightime death sticks will be phased out.
yay!
will be buying much more of it on friday.
just put an order for a nemesis clone, kayfun lite plus clone, kayfun 3.1 clone, nimbus, and various accessories on a credit card.
so yeah, i'm not quitting vaping. i'm quitting smoking. :D
Once again, thank you all for the support and suggestions. if it weren't for the outpouring of support and responses and suggestions i very likely would have eventually just given up on the vaping thing.
yup.

Congrats lemon! I haven't spent as much as others but I'm sure I will get there haha. I haven't wanted a cig since I started, I've been lucky, I gave a spare battery to my sister and and old tank, she's having a hard time, still has analogs time to time but her bf refuses so it isn't helping any.

One thing you can try is to force yourself to go like 3 days without an analogue, and then purposefully smoke one. It'll taste so bad, and make you so sick to your stomach, that it'll be all you need to know about why you quit in the first place. That's kind of what happened to me.

This ^^^! Same with me. I forced myself to smoke an analog as a "test." After about a week into vaping, real cigs tasted just awful.

I too have had a hard time switching over completely. I started vaping mid jan 2014 and am still smoking around 5 analogs a day. That is a ton better than the 2 packs a day I used to smoke. I'm thrilled with myself for getting this far. You need to give yourself credit for trying. My problem was hardware. I fought batteries, then tanks. I have settled on Ego CTwist battery and an Aspire Nautilus tank. I started with the high 24mg nic and am now down to 12mg. Another milestone, Yea for me!
You have to stay committed to doing it and be happy with every milestone you hit.
Good luck!

I am new to vaping also. I have finally gotten off cigarettes, but I'm having difficulty finding a good tank that produces a full flavor without a burning taste or leakage. You referred to a liquid with "WTA's", Could you explain what that means? Any help on good tanks to use would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Hi lemon
I just wanted to congratulate you. I know all about self destructive behaviours along with severe depression and anxiety. I am glad to say I managed to quit with my ecig and I really hope you manage to do. The folks on here seem really supportive and I am sure they will continue to offer support and encouragement. You have done amazingly well and I wish you luck on your journey. Stay strong x

My story is.....I had to quit smoking or my heart was going to explode. I'm a truck driver and out of shape. I work 7 days on 7 off and one day I decided I need to do this or I'll die. I ordered my starter kit, 5-6 flavors of juice and left for work with no smokes. It took me 3 days before I wasn't reaching for my chest pocket. I didn't feel Satisfied but I kept with it. It was just a mind thing. I was vaping 24mg so I was getting plenty of nic so all my issues were in my head. After the 3 days I was fine. I struggled with getting the right ADV but I wasn't smoking. My advice, get as high nic juice as you can stand and enjoy and just tough it out for 3 days, in that time your satisfaction level changes from analog to digital. for me after 3 days I was comparing different juices for satisfaction as opposed to different brands of menthol cigarettes

I agree. Don't beat yourself up. You are gonna go through withdrawal from all those other chemicals. If you quit cold turkey, some days are better than others; the same with vaping. Give yourself a time period (like three months) and try different things. Maybe tell yourself you will not smoke between the hours of ___ and ____ and then slowly extend the period; or tell yourself you will vape instead of smoke at "trouble times" (like after eating) on Mondays, and then gradually add more days. No one says you have to do this overnight.

WTA= whole tobacco alkaloids. It's got a few of the other things in death sticks that are addictive, nornicotine and such. There's a super informative thread on here somewhere but im not sure where... try searching for "wta ejuice" or "whole tobacco alkaloids"
As far as leaking tanks go... I've never had a leaking issue with my aspire vivi nova s, protank 3, or kanger aerotanks. (Those are all glass, btw)

Hey all.

New to vaping here, too. Actually my second time trying. I bought a setup at a local tobacco store on Father's Day 2013. I used it for a week or so. The juice that was recommended to me was 24 mg. (No idea what the VG/PG ratio was.) It had a massive throat hit that would make me cough more than ciggies ever did.

I recently decided to try it again. This time, I stopped into a local vape shop and they set me up with an ego c-twist with an evod. I asked a couple questions and determined that I needed to try cutting back on the nicotine to 12 mg and I opted for a 50/50 ratio juice. I tried a few flavors and found one that I really liked. That was on March 4th. I had three cigs left in my pack at that point. I smoked one that night, vaped the whole next day until I got a call from my ex-wife. (stressful!) Smoked the last two in my pack after that and haven't had any since.

I have since been fine-tuning what I enjoy in terms of gear and flavors. I ended up picking up an mvp 2 with the iclear 30 and it has been exactly what I needed.

I hope that you are able to keep the ciggies down to a minimum, OP. It really amazes me how much more I am enjoying vaping this time around.

Just send 'em to my blog... more info than anyone could possibly want. :)
