I think I may have developed a small hot spot on my coil. about 3-4 wraps are a bit darker then the others...its still vaping great, but what can I do about that?

The coils are squeezed as close as possible already

After I clean my coils, I fire them red hot, release the button, and squeeze my coils with some needlenose pliers. This seems to eliminate any hotspots that develop

I decided to change my wick out, I dry burned the coil and the blackness went away, probably just some built up carbon.

It's for sure a hot spot though, where the black stuff was is where my coil heats from, need to get it a bit more centered..

If you're using a 1/16 drill bit to wrap your coil: insert the bit back into the coil while attached to the rm2, pull gently away from the posts, and spin the bit in your fingers to sorta reshape your coil. I've only had one hotspot on a micro coil, and it was cuz two of the wraps ever so slightly overlapped wrap 5 or 6... Reshaping as above, then firing and squeezing eliminated the problem.
I would give that a shot before tearing everything apart and starting from scratch.
Good luck brother.
