So several days ago i posted on here I did not notice any symptoms. Well they all seemed to have hit me as of yesterday. So far I have notice several really bothersome side effects from stopping smoking.

1. Terrible mouth ulcers - OMG these are terrible. I cannot eat, drink, open mouth - i have a dozen of these things that started yesterday and are extremely painful. Holly Molly - I have never had these in my life.

2. Acid Reflux coming on strong - anything I eat I am having acid reflux - more so when i vape more.

3. Severe tiredness - Like i just cannot stay awake and feel so unbalanced.

4. Chest pain - sharp pains in chess area - then short bursts of pain, then tightness - coughing up BROWN phelm

5. Feeling like a ZOMBIE - almost out of touch with reality.

Its funny several days ago the first 5 days I was like wow this is easy. Now i can see all the common symptoms of stopping coming to light and its not pretty. But i know its worth it in the long run.

Are you vaping pg or vg? Some people are allergic to one or the other. These sound like maybe you are intolerant to something you are vaping. :(

For me, too much nic gives me insomnia, too much pg makes me itch, and too much vg makes me cough...I do fine if I stay with a 60/40 blend (either direction) though. If you are using high vg liquid, then try some pg, and vice versa and see if that clears things up for you. I remember reading something somewhere awhile back about one or other causing mouth ulcers, but when switching to the opposite, all was well. I just can't remember if it was vg or pg that was this person's issue...lol

Actually, all of those Can be attributed to the cessation of tobacco. The lung part is healing and getting the crap out. Rinse your mouth with salted water to help the mouth ulcers.. the tiredness and Zombie part sounds like you're not getting enough nic to compensate what you were use to getting. Exhale through your nose more to help absorb more of the nic you're exhaling. Pop Zantac or your favorite antacid.. and drink more fluids!

Also, relax. All of that has been reported before, so it's nothing that shouldn't have been expected.

I believe it is pg for mouth ulcers. The chest pain and the reflux could be from gas (taking in to much air from drawing the vapor in) as it is a little different than with the stinkies. I had that problem at first. Slow down on the draw and take it into your mouth first. Then again chest pain along with the zombie issue could mean too much nic. What mg level are you vaping?

All I can ad is that I feel tired and zombied out too. I think that might just be that Nic is a stimulant. But it it is getting better. It took me a few weeks but I learned how to puff on my vape stick. Now there is nothing about it that will send me backwards. I still do smoke 3 to 6 stinkys aday. I am not a puritan. But heck, it is better than the 35 a day I was doing.

Thanks so much for all the comments everyone. Appreciate it so much.

I was reading that mouth ulcers are one of the side effects of smoking cessation which affects I think it said 40% of quitters. Just really shocked me that these mouth ulcers i have are like so bad - It feels like i have 20 of them in my mouth and on tongue. Kind of one of the worse feelings I have ever felt - its like a lighter is burning the insides of my mouth.

Gonna stop vapping for several days and stay in bed until it clears. Gonna stop eating as well - all food burns them real bad.

Cheers

Wow, so sorry to hear about that. Hang in there and congratulations on taking the biggest steps. From what I've read on forum it could be the PG that you're having sensitivity to. Make sure you drink lots of water. Also while you're on a hiatus from vaping, order online or go to your local store and get a flavor in 100% VG so that you can later check your tolerance to it.

So I guess its day 4 now with these HORRIBLE mouth ulcers - honestly its probably one of the worst feelings I have had in the last decade, the pain is insane - its actually causing lots of mouth discomfort - all my teeth feel like they are broken - nerve pain - just a general ill feeling. These ecigs I have are bloody useless - pisses me off.

I bought medicated oral gel to place on ulcer - no help
I bought Biotene for mouth dryness - not a help.
Dentist - called on vacation
Doctor - called on vacation

Feel like I want to go to Emergency for these ulcers - they are honestly that bad - for God sakes i would not wish this on anyone.

At the end of my rope - I may go out and either do two things tomorrow - 100% (no more ecigs for me)

1. Buy nicotine gum - to try and get the nicotine back so ulcers go away.
2. Try and smoke a regular cig once a day to get rid of them.

Desperate for pain relief

I know its not the best way to stop ciggarettes .
But I started my day with a cigar to stop the nicotine cravings and then continued with E-cig for the rest of the day.

I have no more cig cravings - all that is gone - I absolutely do not want to smoke cigs - I have no want for them - but the problem is I have these huge mouth Ulcers - big fat ones and its causing a pain level of 8/10 - its like someone shoving a hypodermic needle in your lips and gums every minute - throbbing tooth pain and mouth on fire..

I have read all over if you smoke a few cigs the pain will instantly go away in a few hours to a day

Since my last post a few days I have spent all my time in bed trying to stay asleep as much as possible - I have slept the new year away - LOL

I never would of though stopping smoking would have caused huge mouth soreness like this. I should take some pics of these ulcers - you would be so grossed out.
