OK I have a stupid question? On SS mesh after reading a few posts on here, I'm assuming the wire does NOT need to rest on the mesh????? All this stuff is VERY NEW to me, lol

Correct, more or less. One wants the wire to be 'insulated' from the SS Mesh wick. ...thus the various treatments to obtain a layer of oxidization. On the other hand, the coil needs to be more or less 'on' the wick because that's where the juice is. I suppose it doesn't need to touch the wick everywhere along it's length. Others with experience may offer further comment.

Well seeing as how I haven't bought a Rolling Paper in 20+ years I guess I'll go get some unless yall came suggest an alternative?

Thanks for the size Endor, bigger than I hoped. Foxman, maybe you have some analogs you could take apart for the paper? Someone used toilet paper, and I suppose in a pinch newspaper would do, it's going to burn away anyway.

Thanx asdaq, I didn't know if the thickness mattered, lol

In my limited experience with this tank, if I have the wire pulled too tight from the ss wick to the positive terminal, I get a hotspot and broken wire at the top of the wick. Every time.

I've gone to making a much more rigid wick (really getting it red hot with a blow torch), wrapping it really tight, and being careful that the top positive wire is not under high tension and pulling hard on the wick.

OK does anybody have an idea what to use for the rubber washers that go for isolators for the positive posts on this thing, lol Both mine are split from trying to re solder the posts, lol

Wild shot, having not had one in my hands... Heat Shrink Tubing...mulit-layered if necessary..?

I always wrap the coil snug against the wick, not real tight but snug. If not after heating up a few times, it expands too far from the wick.

If you have any old CE2s laying around, pull out the top "washer' seal - the one that sets on top of the cup seal and try it. These are made of silicone, a high temp polymer.

DANG ya'll make up your minds, lol
The only way the coil gets wet is by contact with the wick, any part that is too far from the wick will be dry and give you a hot spot. As a little gunk builds up it fills up the space between the coil and the wick, this helps keep the coil wet and is one of the reasons a wick/coil gets better after some use. Snug is good.
