How does it vape?

I have only been vaping about a month & only have experience with bauway CE4, Novas & SRTs. With that said, It vapes clouds over the rest of my line up. I have a griffin/DID clone in shipment & do not expect its small size to out preform it(unmodded anyway). I can even vape upside down laying on my back, with no eliquid spilling into the air chamber :p I do find that the air hole being directly under the mesh wick makes a noticeable difference, as I tried first without repositioning it. I also Like that the tower rises to just below the metal cap, I believe the metal in the cap absorbs more of the heat that way by acting as a sink, thus aiding in preventing possible melting the plastic walls of the tank. The mouth piece will get warm, giving a pre warning of high air chamber heat.

A big Thank U to all whom mod & share, thus inspiring others to awe & get fiddlin!

Just noticed that you are using Sterling Silver and Argentinium.

"Argentium Sterling silver is a modern sterling silver alloy which modifies the traditional alloy (92.5% silver + 7.5% copper) by replacing some of the copper with the metalloid germanium[1]."

I have seen ECF posts about using copper that advised against it. I have no idea about "metalloid germanium"

TomCatt, I have only used bauway CE4s, ViVi Novas, Smoke SRT ViVis & have been vaping only a month. That said, I do not use the silicone cup caps on the CE4s & Novas. I keep My modded SRTs upright out of habit, as well

Here is one of my SRTs. WARNING: Old coot :vapor: with a new hobby went over board & dressed it up like a hot rod engine

Very nice work indeed! And excellent pictures.

Thanks for making me reread about Germanium. I now say use @ your/my own risk, & I am going to try to source some sterling grommets. Back to germanium, I originally read that germanium is used in some dietary supplements, so I bought them. After your inspiration to reread about it, it seems that the dietary version is organic & the germanium in silver is not organic. I do not fully comprehend the whole process, but it seems that both have a melting point of 1211.40 K, 938.25 °C, 1720.85 °F in the stable pure form. I also read that "Germanium tetrachloride is used as an intermediate in the production of purified germanium metal" & has a melting point of -49.5 °C, 224 K, -57 °F . I comprehend that to mean only stable pure Germanium remains in the silver product. I believe Germanium is controversial to governments that need to keep dietary extremist & cancer patients seeking cures in check, therefore warnings are widely given & often propagandized as evil, because ingestion of the stable dietary form in large doses can/maybe toxic. Inhalation of dust of stable pure & non stables in much larger quanities than I could ever get, even if my towers melted & I inhaled them lol, would likely not be of toxic levels. That said, I now seek non Germanium grommets(or should I), but I feel safe in the mean time. & If I get sterling grommets, then I need to be suspicious about: "Sterling silver is an alloy of silver containing 92.5% by mass of silver and 7.5% by mass of other metals, usually copper", mystery metals that may already exist in the SRT? itself . Caution, as all paths have dangers. I will likely keep using the tarnish power of Germanium, if I source no sterling ones, & no one adds some danger info I am clueless to. I additionally doubt that eliquds could ever act in an "Aqua regia" type manner much if @ all.

I shall try to develop much shorter than above caution type tag to add to my post that deal with my mods that use Germanium in the furture ;)

I knew that nasa type font's B was going to cause confusion  BWO = By Way Of

Note: EDIT was of poor grammer & no meaning changes

I was in a rush this morning :( & now derpily, remember that the internals/crimps & not the grommets are the Germanuim. I can resource sterling ones from riogrande.com. I chose the germanium over sterling because I figured Germanium was safer due to health nuts eating it & it still maybe? I need to do more research, in the mean time I vape on Germanium, stylin :vapor:

I wish I could source some silver tubing that is thicker walled than jewelry findings shops carry, so I could try to make an all silver RA! Dreams are fun.

Set up a "hybrid wick" tonight. Rolled and oxidized a short SS mesh wick, wrapped a coil with 32g Kanthal - 2.1ohm. Installed this like the 'factory wick'. Rolled two cotton batting wicks, inserted one cotton wick in each wick hole and 'draped' the end of each cotton wick over the corresponding end of the SS mesh wick.

Pics and a video (click on video pic to play):

Very impressive TomCatt, You can hear that engine eat juice slurrrrrrping like the big block SRT chambers should :2cool:

I just received a griffin

Not of one these

One of these.

It vapes OK rewicked[stock wick was sad ]

, for a small air block/chamber.

Back to SRT mods, here is my other SRT modeled after the "gateway arch":

A little over 3mm thick hemp wick that rests between the two tall silver/germanium towers, providing extra tank wall insulation. It does not guzzle as quick, as my other genesis style SRT, but the flavors shine :2cool: more in it.

BJ43 thanks for that excellent tip. When I saw the hole spacing that provides the long leg, I thought "hmmm the griffin must of had polio as a child, like my godfather". I find so far (about a tank & a half) it performs less like a "griffin beast of lore" & more like:
q4Okm.png

in that it commercially entertains the masses in a tasteful manner

As of now I'd give it a thumbs up, in that it exceeds any expectations I had when I ordered it :p

AuriuX I ordered it already built from madvapes.com, They have assembled units, assemble it yourself kits, & just the chip. Here is a page for the chip: Ohm Meter Display and Control Board It is basically +- power to 2 aa batteries & +- thing you want to test, just 4 wires (off the chip). They explain it better on their site & mention an extra power input ability, of some sort on the chip. If I eventually build one, I want a nice dark hardwood workdeck area & a big display like this one. 3 1/2 Digital Red LED 200

I do like the little madvapes unit, it works nicely as a small somewhat stable work stand as an extra benefit.

I wonder if that is a hint that it will also display voltage...

I like your line of thought :p

I have very little electrical knowledge, but I figure if it was possible, madvapes would take advantage by boastfully stating so. Sadly they just state: "There is also an extra PWR+ connection on the bottom of the board which may be useful." My guess is that it is simply an extra power source lead in :(
