well why don't you explain your wicking method.
Take a look at the rip trippers review at youtube (first review that comes to mind). My wicking method is very similar. Nothing special, I just cut the cotton and then I sit the tails at the top of the juice channels. I'm using Cotton Bacon btw. I'm not saying that is the best method, but it works fine for me.

I'm not sure Rip showed a wicking method. GrimGreen, RichardNG, Vaping Bogan, Mike Vapes, The Vapor Chronicles, and many others did it though. Plenty of videos, one wicking method.

I just went checking, and he actually shows how to put the tails in the juice channels, which is the most important part. But you're right, they all will show the same method.

when you say sit, do u tuck the ends of the tails into the ring or just let them lay on top?
i'm lightly tucking the ends into the top of the ring being care not to stuff and even thinning the tails out beforehand. the ends of the wick don't go past the wick retainer ring. it's def a wicking problem. i need a tank that has huge wicking channels to keep up with my style. gonna order the aromamizer supreme. love their V1 RDTA.

Most people just sit in top. Some tuck a little in. If you tuck in too much then you get issues.

Yeah I like the Aromamizer V1 too. Claustrophobic deck though..

i have and figured i'd just get the aromamizer supreme since they're both so similar. i don't like how the juice control is connected to the afc on the boreas. thanks for the tip tho.

The lighting in that photo makes it difficult for me to offer an opinion. Are certain areas of the wick darker than the rest? If so, then that area is to dense, with cotton, and may be messing up your rate of wick. That's all I've got for you for now.

Simple 24g build after 100ml vaped thru it..No dry hits, no flooding..just a good thick flavorful vape, even chain vaping..cotton is touching the deck behind the ring with the tops of the juice holes covered completely..dosent get any simpler than that for a great consistent vape every hit... Hey guys, got myself a griffin the other day and today I decided to build on it and replace the tfv4, well the build has gone well, but with 1 issue.
The juice flow control is way too easy to move, so even adjusting the airflow it moves the juice control.. Also noticed a small up and down movement in the airflow ring, which actually means you can wobble the entire tank on that axis.
Cannot fathom out how to tighten these areas up at all, any of you guys know how to tighten that whole section up?

I had the same problem on mine. I ended up sending an email to roy@geekvape.com directly and he helped me through the process for replacing the deck on mine.

Gonna return my Turbo v4 and exchange it for a Griffin. Don't know why I even bought that PoS (yes it's unopened). Guess I was just bored and it looked fun. I did notice a lot of people sayin the screws back out so I guess I shoulda researched it more first. Look forward to my first RTA.

Hello, all! A bit late to "the party", but made my entry into the world of RTA's yesterday by picking up a Griffin at my local vape shop. They set it up for me with a couple pre-wound Clapton coils at 0.22Ω and cotton wicking and I headed out happily enjoying the great vape.

After a while, the vape seemed to be getting a bit dry, for lack of a better description, so put it down for a bit. It was fine then for a while again before seeming to be running short of the high VG juice I was using.

Having watched a few videos and reading through some of this thread, it seems their wicking method was different then most. The cotton was fairly tight when pulling it through the coil and was extended down to the bottom of the wick well. From what I have read/seen, should it be re-wicked a bit looser within the coil and/or wicking stopping just inside that ring to eliminate this "problem?"

I understand that these take some trial and error, but since the simple act of re-wicking requires some extra effort on my part (just call me twitch :D), I just wanted some advice on the direction I may need to take while experimenting. Thanks!
