Trevor Jone's method worked for me:

i took the wicks out of the channels and trimmed about a mm off the tails. now the wick ends barely go into the juice channels. as in, if you looked at them the wrong way they would pop out, that's how little cotton is in the channels. wicking fast now. going to try it without the wick retainer ring when i change the cotton. see how it wicks without it. will report back. thanks @Suwat666 .

Well to my previous post about the loose juice control and wobble on that axis, ive searched up and down the net and found a few people with the same issue, with someone claiming to have fixed it, by simply tapping the posts with a rubber mallet, so it presses further in to the base... Now it seems plausible but anyone here tryed it?

I just pulled the .49 ohm 28ga 3mm 8 wrap parallel build from my Griffin. I built a .43 ohm 28 x2 /34 fused clapton 3mm 7 wrap. To be fair, it is an all kanthal build, but so far I'm not too impressed with the vapor production or flavor. It really seems that it was better with the parallel build.

That being said, I'm wondering if I should just buy some 24ga and call it a day. Plus I don't know if I should buy SS, nichrome, nickel, titanium or what. I haven't built anything TC thus far.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I've posted this build before because it's simple, easy to wrap and vapes great..
its 10 wraps of 24g Nichrome on a 3mm bit at .25 ohns for dual coils..Vapes awesome at about 75-80w with IOO% VG ..No leaks, and no dry hits even chain vaping

Looks are unimportant to me really, but thanks! For me more importantly is how the build performs vaping it..

Vaping my Griffin this evening and loving this atty. I got it this week and words don't do it justice. Running dual Clapton coils that are running at .28 ohms with wattage set at 45. Juice is G2's carny4; it has never tasted so good.:) I have Japanese organic cotton for my wick. I've heard people talking about bacon cotton, but have never looked much into it. For those in the know, do you feel it's that much better than a good Japanese organic cotton and why? Be well and have a great evening.

p.s. I should add that I am vaping this on a sx mini m class in "powerful mode." So the ramp-up is immediate.

Yeah I like bacon cotton over Japanese..
It is denser and actually wicks faster..didn't know nothing about it till the guys at my local shop gave me a few pieces to try out..it's good stuff! Glad your liking your Griffin! It is indeed an awesome RTA[emoji106]

thanks, smacksy. I may buy a bag of it just to see if I can tell the difference. The wicking I am getting now is holding up fine the way I am vaping. I can chain vape the hell out of this atty without any dry hits. I am not usually a chain vaper, but there are times when the beer is flowing this may change.:D The Griffin is such an easy set-up and it just performs. I'm still working with a Bellus I got recently, but it is so much more of a hassle to deal with and really isn't on par with the Griffin. This thing rocks. Have a great evening.

Thank you! Are you using the TC setting or straight wattage?

If you want to use tc that rules out nichrome. 24 ga nickel has such a low resistance that it'll be difficult to use. I prefer ss. Can be used in both tc and vw. Titanium certainly does have its benefits though.

I have had terrific results with 24 ga (both SS and Ti) wire in the Griff. Seems like the ramp up performance and temp accuracy is better with Ti, at least in my experience. SS is more versatile though. You can use it either in VW or TC mode and dry fire for cleaning.

Thank you @KenD and @river.guy. Shows how little I knew about TC. I didn't realize nichrome was not for TC. I also didn't know that apparently you cannot dry fire titanium wire for cleaning. From both of your posts, looks like I should be looking into SS. I greatly appreciate your knowledge and help.

So just got it this morning. Finally had the time to do a build. Simple dual coil kanthals 24gauge 8 wraps 3mm IAD comes out to about 0.4 ohms. Wicking is as usually slightly tucked the ring in but not in the juice feed. Top fill no leaks, good flavor good vapor. Don't have access to the top airflow piece but I find the bottom piece to be enough.

Couple gripes, with so many moving parts it's hard to maneuver the tank, i.e. Adjusting airflow without moving juice flow, removing top fill cap without moving juice flow. IMO they need stoppers, read that the 25mm has bottom airflow stoppers but juice flow?

Great tank. Got it in black and it looks great on the vaporshark 200
