I don't notice much of a difference (if any) but remove the outer layers anyway. Old habit I guess.with the koh gen do cotton pads, do you guys find the need to remove the two outer thick laters so that it wicks better?
I've tried both and couldn't tell a substantial difference.

why didnt it work? the trick is keeping it light and fluffy. pull desired amount of rayon, and just twist the end to put it through the coil. you want a pretty snug fit because rayon shrinks when its wet.. i kinda pull the tail end (or hold it with no slack) while i pull it through the coil, then i pull it back and forth between the coil a few times. also you can thin the tails with tweezers or anything pointyRayon didn't work for me..tried it and hated it..glad it works for you..[emoji317]

Bacon cotton works good enough, I've got two weeks on my Griffin build and its still hitting as great as the day I installed it..I believe if it's not broken don't fix it, plus I've got plenty of bacon cotton on hand..thru out the last bit of rayon because I didn't like it...[emoji106] [emoji41]why didnt it work? the trick is keeping it light and fluffy. pull desired amount of rayon, and just twist the end to put it through the coil. you want a pretty snug fit because rayon shrinks when its wet.. i kinda pull the tail end (or hold it with no slack) while i pull it through the coil, then i pull it back and forth between the coil a few times. also you can thin the tails with tweezers or anything pointy
Good to hear. Keep us updated if you notice any other advantages of top air flow.I got my second Griffin on Friday from Heaven Gifts I gotta give a shout out to them, it shipped out from them in China about 11:00pm Wed night and I had it in my hand by 6pm on Friday! This one came with the top air flow kit, so I could try it next to my other Griffin.
The tank was in perfect condition, fitting were all nice and tight. I like that it came with the updated grub screws, much nicer quality than the originals. The top air flow cap is nice, that little bit of knurling on the top made it much easier to remove for refilling. I put in some claptoned coils, came out to 0.23 ohms. I played with the wattage and top/bottom airflow and think I found the sweet spot for it. I'm vaping it at 65-70w with the bottom airflow about 3/4 open and top airflow about 1/3 open. It's a warm vape but not hot, the top airflow cools it down just enough. I was chain vaping and the wicking had no problems keeping up and the flavor is superb. It could easily go higher and just adjust the airflow from getting the vape too hot.

I was running my other Griffin without the top air flow with a dual clapton 0.35 ohm at about 42-47w and bottom airflow wide open. I think I do like the flavor with the top air flow a little better. I think it's just because I can comfortably run it with more power.
That build looks great Road, Nice claptons fit good in there too..good job!I got my second Griffin on Friday from Heaven Gifts I gotta give a shout out to them, it shipped out from them in China about 11:00pm Wed night and I had it in my hand by 6pm on Friday! It does, doesn't it? We need to wrangle Roadtrip into building our coils too ;pThat build looks great Road, Nice claptons fit good in there too..good job!

Coils from another guy on a different forum..I'm still learning Clapton's and got a ways to go, lol

I wish I could take credit for building them from scratch. Pre-wrapped wire I just coiled them up, I wish I had those kind of coil building chops. They still work pretty well though, give a nice vape. That build looks great Road, Nice claptons fit good in there too..good job!

I think they are! Him and another dude named Raymo has alot their coils posted over thereAre those from Crazy Chef? Those look noice!![]()
I tried doing something like that once..Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk![]()
To get the top air kit, I think depends on the type of vaper you are. I think for it to really shine, you need to be running higher wattages or more aggressive builds. There are a couple of nice side benefits for the top airflow cap.Good to hear. Keep us updated if you notice any other advantages of top air flow.
I have the original, and I love it. I have, however, been keeping a close on the top air flow piece. Thankfully it has been out of stock most of the time so I have been able to hold onto my cash.. just a little longer
