No I didnt. I think @h00ligan maybe??
Wasn't me.

I don't think the gem needs a wicking or airflow upgrade. I'm able to wick highest vg possible. Without issue. I guess it will be interesting to see. I can't see how it would be an upgrade. If it is I'd guess it will cost 2/3 of a new tank with the amount of parts that need replacing. Center post /chimney. Afc. Deck. So you're left with top cap and glass / metal sleeve.

Maybe I just don't have the mind to figure out how it would be done replacing anything minor. Interesting. Or would we send in our gems and pay some then get a whole new kit I guess?

Or am I missing the usage of the word upgrade and it the meaning in this case is new revision to buy?

Five years of vaping ~ never changed an O-ring on anything yet ;)

I agree that o-rings rarely need to be changed but in this case the o-ring is subjected to the screw threading every time you switch from hybrid to standard 510. I guess it's not an issue if you don't swap the pins too often but i can see it being a problem for those that do. I have a couple GEMS so personally, i'm not too worried about it since i won't be swapping pins often but i just think it would be nice (remove all worry) if it was user replaceable.

The central o ring where the chimney pushes through is extremely easy to lose. I lost one down the drain two days ago. Super annoying because I know it basically falls out all the time but I still forgot to plug the drain when cleaning. Doh.

Any of those top three are subject to easy loss as such I need to figure he size(s?) out and order a full bag from fast tech. Are they different sizes and does anyone happen to know the exact inner and outer of them ?

Also no more info on the upgrade. I assume it's a new revision not upgrade. @qorax?

I wasn't aware there were GEM threads outside this and the announcement. Neither of which have any info. and it was mentioned in here so I asked in here.

Nothing up on their website that I can find either.

If anyone wants to Post a link or the info Here if appreciate it. As I'm sure would others who rely on this as the primary source of discussion regarding the GEM.

You are right, it could be introduced as a revision, ala Gem V2. However, since the things/changes are yet to be finalized we really can't talk much about it beyond what Todd has already stated.

Is this an issue? Was about to order one :/
there several reports on this thread. Res variation depeneding on how far in the screw is. Same sort of issue that the squape and the taifun gt2 has (gs2 doesnt seem so bad). Cleaning the 510 screw can relieve the problem but it is annoying..

It's very inconsistent. I sent an email that was part of a conversation to mark bugs with no reply regarding his recommendations on how far it should be in or out. If there was a way to make it more solid. I own two GEMS and this is practically a deal killer. Fortunately the incidence of it ja thing when it's on a device and set is rare. But that happens to. And that's even worse than mucking about trying to get it right initially.

Every center pin design like this I've ever tried has this problem. The two fun gt2 has it easy to fix. You just unscrew the pin and when you attach it the pin screws itself in the the perfect place and makes a solid connection. If anything a fix for the gem would rely on getting a different center pin that is a bit more relaxed in how tight and such it is.

Dna200 with such a massive sample rate is probably the worst decide to try and use with the gem. Sticking to older temp control devices or those with different method of sampling seems to be a big improvement. Upside is less expensive mods. Downside is potentially less accurate temperature control which already has questionable accuracy

For me. The flavor of these tanks and the fact they do work 90+ percent once you get the screw set for the proper reading makes it matter less but a tank that didn't taste his good I wouldn't put up with it especially at the price of the tank
