Oh man

I'm using 30g Kanthal, 7 wraps on 2.5mm in at 1.7Ω works better for me. I tried 28g with tight coils, spread out coils and the flavor was just not enough for my 100% PG liquids.I find 28g, 6 wraps, 2.5mm diameter better than the other thicker gauge ones should bring you to around 1.0-1.2 ohm. Personally I find that if you wick it really well, it will beat most of the other atties out there. It's almost as if you get rewarded for building it well.
Hi buddy,Thank you Qorax--one more thing please!! i sent you a message on facebook, so if tyou haven't read it you can delete it. Just want to know what's about the best build for the GEM-Ti? I have a 24 kanthal with like 6 wraps on 2.5 bit. Better at like 26 or 28? stay at 2.5 bit? wraps?
Thank you Qorax! I won't bug you much more after this!! Just got it and want to get the absolute best performance I can out of it. Anything better than the GEm (Ti or not) in terms of flavor? Hurrican is good I know, I see Squape R(s), etc.

Fantastic--thank you so very much! I'm certainly not bummed about about the Gem-Ti, it's a masterpiece. However, seeing the SS V2 with bigger air flow (significantly?) I do get a strong feeling of wondering what that is like!! Haha--like many I'm sure--not certain I'll ever be totally satisfied while vaping! lol-equipment, juices, mods, tanks, etc. But the journey is fantastic!Hi buddy,
No, I haven't received any PM on FB from you SirNonetheless, I saw your other notification today
As for the best setup, in my book, w.r.t. GEM (any of it's variations, Ti or SS) it would be a 2.4mm coil out of 28AWG wire, around 1.2-1.4 Ohms and firing at 14-16W. Contact or spaced doesn't matter.
I wouldn't suggest any gauge lower than 26AWG for RTAs. The reason being their ramp-up & heat discharge time. It would be fine with drippers, but not so in tank systems. This is my personal finding, YMMV.
As for other hi-end flavorful RTAs, there are obviously a few around. You could notice them in my YT reviews. If I put up a video on one ~ it signifies that I like that one! Wouldn't name any here, this being a GEM thread, but you get the drift
Happy vaping my friend.
I'm a fan of seven wraps if you're using thicker liquid. I find the slightly slower heating prevents dry hits a bit more. V2 is very tolerant with wicking. The v1 can be finicky but if you watch his video it explains it pretty clearly.Hey my friend--one more question please-very appreciative of your time and help!!
Just a comment or two on wicking please: any "must knows" or anything to help ensure I do a proper wicking job that this piece deserves!
Thank you so very much!! Now im going to watch your video on the V2!
Wicking this is very easy Mike. Like Hooligan correctly opined - cut it off close[st] to the deck's periphery then just push the ends down into the feed channel's bottom "U" portion with a FLATHEAD. While maintaining an upwards vertical "delta" at both ends.Hey my friend--one more question please-very appreciative of your time and help!!

Hi buddy, thanx for the appreciation! You got a fantastic query there@qorax Thanks for the review, how do you feel about the smaller fill holes? Can we use the v1 top part in the v2?
So when is going to be released on the Mark Bugs site? I loved your video, and was about to pull the trigger on a v1, but at this point, it seems that waiting for the v2 will not only future proof me a bit, but cost a bit liess.Gem2 INFOSHARE:
Let me be candid to you guys. the "main" difference is ONLY THE AIRFLOW. It was designed due to a severe demand for more in the forums. There are a few other changes - but those are subtle. I'll let you know those in my video.
The vape experience remains EXACTLY THE SAME as the original SS Gem if you close the AFC just past 2/3rd. That is if the first Gem's AFC was fully open. So, in a nutshell, in simple terms, the only thing is - this GEM2 is three times opener than the first SS GEM and twice as open as the Gem-Ti.
Thus, if you're happy with the draw of your first GEM ~ you have no reason to go for this one. Nothing severely changed for you. But if one is a first time buyer of GEM ~ this version makes more sense. B'coz now s/he can fine tune the draw further.
PRICE: 139 Euros
Hi, as I understand, it'd be available this month end or early next.So when is going to be released on the Mark Bugs site? I loved your video, and was about to pull the trigger on a v1, but at this point, it seems that waiting for the v2 will not only future proof me a bit, but cost a bit liess.
Thanks!
I learned what battery to use by this chart, It tells you what is best for your device and type of vape.Thank you for that simple formula. I learnt something there and have been surfing around to learn a bit more. The battery I'm going to use on the mech is an AW IMR 18650 3000mAH with a maximum continuous discharge rate of 20A. See here

I think I'll try and build the coil on my Gem to around 1.5 ohms. Applying your formula, that seems plenty safe. The trick is to build and mount precisely and that's still my weak spot. Also before I embark on this new journey I'm going to acquire an ohms and volt meter. It will help with my coil building as well, since I've been mounting the build deck on my P3 to check resistance.
I had posted a thread elsewhere on this forum asking the same questions and somebody scared the hell out of me by insisting I either use a kick or a regulated mod. Said at 1.2 ohms I could be building a pipe bomb if I didn't understand the principles. Well I agree that I need to understand batteries and what I'm doing with them but its left me feeling unsure.
I'll add to he lygte site has a ton of tests in flashlights which are very informative.google lygte battery compareI learned what battery to use by this chart, It tells you what is best for your device and type of vape.
Did anyone here experienced the O ring inside the chamber came out and got messed up? Its the one inside near the juice holes. The build deck must had caught it when I pushed it in.
Took me an hour to push it back in but part of it is messed up.
I have bits of O ring floating in my tank when I vapeAny idea if any parts in the spare bag is for this?
Here I just had to rewick due to a strong flavor previously so I snapped these to maybe help.
Thanks for dropping by Todd. It's always nice to see you around! Thanks for sharing that build, just tried it and works a treat![]()
