Here we go. Neither the battery in the pic nor efests nor AwH work either.

I have the Chalice going on my REO right now to celebrate the release.

He does beautiful work!

Couldn't agree more. My experience with their work tempts me to buy their mod just for the matching look. Unfortunately though I haven't done Kanthal in ages and there really isn't a good TC board that would probably fit in a Wizard (I consider the DNA40 to be showing its age at this point, others can disagree). Hopefully, YiHi or Evolv will come out with something this year that will encourage Mark Bugs to add a nice TC mod to go with the Gem.

BTW, is that a protected battery you're using in a regulated device?

THE WGU CLUB
I should try any of those batteries? On the battery in the pic I bought that last minute at a random vape shop. I must confess I know nothing about batteries. I take it I would use a protected on a mech mod only? I keep promising myself to watch one of the videos.

You don't need 'protected' batteries no more. Even on a mech. All these hi-drain batteries are good enough. I've never used protected batteries in any mod of mine, whether mech or regulated.

In anticipation of the GEM release I pulled my WAEII out of the closet and now getting the readout "Too Hot" on the display. Never had a problem with it months ago, but I caught Bottom Feeder Fever and haven't used it in quite a while. Anyone see this error? anything I can do to fix it? I took off the atty and cleaned everything with alcohol but still getting the message after about a minute.

Is it always reading too hot? Or just when you do something?

:(
Maybe I can send it to Mark and have it ride back with a GEM. :)
Go ahead and give Mike a pm. His screen name is "mark78." He should get you taken care of. Sorry to hear about your mod but you have a product with a great modder that stands behind his product.

I would stay away from the protected batteries. Use AW, vtc4/5, lg he2/4, samsung 25r. Any of those will work.

waiting to hear a release date on this in July....really looking forward to seeing one of these on my WAE2 - been so tempted to get a kayfun v4 for a new toy, glad I held off and saw this. Just what I was waiting for.

Bring it on MB

Been loving my 2 Chalice IIIs on my REO but I have room for this, too. Really outdid yourself on the Chalice...it is amazing.

PS - I like the DNA30 version of my WAE2 just fine...rock solid performer.

I have tried the flat top AW's and Efest's and neither are long enough. I will try one of the other suggestions. It is getting infuriating. This is the only regulated mod with no battery adjustment and the only one where none of my batteries work.

Oh, it has the "battery adjustment" feature very well. It is done via threading in / out the bottom tube cup. And like I said earlier, every battery except Samsung 20R fits perfectly in the WAE-II. I have every Hi-Drain battery in the globe ~ and have tested all on my WAEs.

Your issue probably could be due to damaged pos plates of your batteries. Due to over tightening them inside other mods (especially mechs) you might have inadvertently pressed those pos plates down. Try prying the pos plates (of the batteries) up a little. You can use a pin thru the vent holes (on the pos plates) to pull them up.
