I trim the wick some more, I know it does not look like much cotton, but these are the end results:

Notice how the cotton expanded absorbing and holding the e liquid. If I wold have left the same amount of cotton I started with, there would probably be no wicking taking place. I have not tried KGD in this atty yet, but I would adjust accordingly.

That is a 50/50 e liquid, 2.5mm Kanthal coil, 1.5 ohms. No dry hits and or leakage with this build. I do not know how this would work with higher VG.
Great stuff, thank you. Shall give your method a go.

Pyrex tank #1 - kaputt.. A tiny crack from top to bottom. Doesn't leak, though. Will vape empty and then replace. Spares available yet? :)
My :2c: - top cap too tight+ the tank bent itself somehow unfortunate while in pocket.

Well, it didn't bend. It was probably under tesion and had placed itself in the pocket the wrong way.
No biggie, there's the other pyrex tank. And I suppose we will be able to order spares. We should be able.

Of my 2 glass tanks, one fits perfectly, the other isn't straight across one of the ends so the too cap doesnt sit flush when screwed down. Sent 3 mails to mb asking for a replacement. No answer.
Fun & games

Hmm..

Different thickness tanks. Uneven tops. Pressure cracking. Holes too small. Support not responding. Spare tanks unavailable. Unexpected customs charges.

Thee last couple pages seem like a disaster. I had to check to make sure the title wasn't "got a new clone from China"

Wow.

Qorax,
Has anyone developed an issue that you know of with their WEA2?
Suddenly the dna30 is acting up. First is the screen won't go into sleep mode every time when it sits idle and when/if it does it reverts back to the lowest watt setting 7.0. If I tap on it the resistance blinks and I can move the watts back up to 13.0. But after it sits a bit and I press the button to take a hit, it's back to 7 watts again. It's gone compleat wonky!! Press the go button at 7 watts and the 1.5 ohms begins flashing again.
Looks like it's going back to Romania. Please give details on full address and anything I need to know about shipping. :(

Send @mark78 a message. He seems to be more responsive on here. My 2 gems are flawless and it is not a disaster in here. He should get you taken care of. Keep in mind, he is a small force doing big production. He is also moving to another factory so he's going to be very busy.

Hi, I'm using my WAE & WAE-II since late 2013, no issues with either of them. Like @IanDVaypes suggested ~ pls PM @mark78 asap. Or email them (I'm PMing you Bugs' personal address).

I've had my Gem a couple weeks and nailed the wicking right from the get go with 50/50 my tank tester juice. But with 80vg with very little cotton I'm capped at about 9.5 watts and have to tighten the airflow some to keep up with my long light draws. Since I like to DIY my juice for everything around 80 VG and like to keep the airflow wide open and take gentle long slow draws I decided as Turbo did to drill out my juice holes. I went with a #49 measures .073 inch or 1.85 mm there is an improvement for me but I only completed this yesterday. Going to give it a couple weeks or maybe more (translation lazy) and see if I would benefit from going a little larger.

Keep in mind my style is probably not the norm ..... I keep everything I own wide open and just take light easy lung hits so I create very little neg pressure in the tank while vaping. My stuff need to be set up to wick really well to keep the nice saturated vape I enjoy.

Nickel is fine, so long as you don't allow too much e-residue to build up on the build deck/base plate interface. I typically use 4~5 wraps at 28awg on a 2.5mm coil.
Hi @Yozhik have you had any issues with wandering base resistance when the 510 screw is adjusted? Mine is all over the place with just single turn 0.05 ohm change or more either way!!
