Ok I have exactly one complaint with the GEM.......... The ss color doesn't match my titanium provari 100%.... I guess I have to buy an wae2. Anybody have any ideas on how to explain to the wife why I absolutely NEED another mod? [emoji15]
My gf doesn't like my MB stuff because I end up looking at them more than her now. Definitely doesn't go well.

cos they arent matching and you couldnt possibly be seen with an umatched mod and topper! Surely the wife will understand that?!?!!?
With all my other little OCD "issues" she'll understand but won't care. lol. Usually when she says "is that new?" I respond with "that? Nah I've had that forever" but she's onto that and calls bs now.

you do that too?!?! Doesnt work for me either mostly. I think the inexorable erosion of shelf space as more mods/atty's/juice bottles etc accumulate gives the game away a tad...

Thanks for the suggestions, but I swapped the 510 pin and the AFC pin will seat properly. But as the 510 base won't seem to tighten enough, the AFC drops down a bit.

I was having issues with the 510 base tightening down too. Try this, tighten it down before installing the extended pin. Thats that worked for me, It was driving me crazy. the insulator was kinda tight with the pin and I couldn't tighten it down. Simply pushing it through and tightening it down after everything was installed, works like a true Gem.

The best was when she said " I thought this was supposed to be cheaper than smoking" I told her she looked pretty and there was an emergency at the office and had to go

Lmao I do that too. It has gotten to the point where she's accepted it but she thinks that I only look at ecig stuff on my phone. It's funny how she doesn't know the proper term for my devices so she just makes up the names for my devices.

ha, yeah bro these things are pretty rare, I think mark only made 13 of the WEII M's (medium 18500), all the others are L's (large 18650) mine is [HASHTAG]# 13M[/HASHTAG] :) I've searched and searched but never could find another for sale... not sure if any 18500 apprentices were made though in SS, might be able to find one of those? I've never had a SS one myself, only the Ti, really can't wait for the Ti gem, I need 2 :D
No, WAE-II in 18500 size (M) were never produced.

How were the WE2 M sold, just off his site, or were they backroom deals, lol. Until earlier in this thread, I had no idea any existed in 18500 size (thought only the pre-2 were in multiple sizes)

Still struggling.
28g Kanthal - 8 wrap - 2mm dia - 0.93 ohms on the dry fire ring
Coil low, wires cut nice and short

Put it in the chamber and it reads 0.04 ohms ???

Please don't take this as knocking the Gem as I absolutely love it even without vaping it. :)

I have sent the pics and details to MarkB and I know he and you guys will help me resolve the issue. :)

AFAIK, WE-II in 18500 were also never sold. MB never produced an 18500 version of the DNA30 Wizards. It's "M" size ended with the DNA20. However, MB had 'gifted' an 18500 "tube" to few during 'pre-sales' of the WE-II via VaporWall.

@UKPaul : I feel terribly sorry to hear your woes :( Your coil pics looks so good ~ and yet there's a snag somewhere. You've read my previous post re: the three chances of shorting, right? With your latest pics all I can think of is that no sooner you're wicking it ~ your coil is touching one of the sides of the "coil cup" and shorting out.

Can you post a pic of your "wicked" coil, which is lying bang on the center of your coil cup? Isolated from all it's sides. And if even that one doesn't work ~ I am seriously out of ideas.

Ps.: By the look of your coil I don't think its a 2mm one ~ it prolly is a 2.4 / 2.5mm coil like I do.

Q, I never wicked this coil as wanted to check it first and I use a 2mm bar from my Q-vapes coiler.

I have scrutinised the coil with a magnifying glass and there is plenty of clearance from the cup.

Also, when I take it out the chamber and check it, it is fine again.

dare I say it, I am wondering if my tolerances are a tad to fine and my posi screw is touching the top of the chamber.

I am going to see if I have some old 30g from the distant past to experiment with as this will lower the posi screw fractionally.
