Can anyone confirm for me which screen the WAE II dna 40 uses? Is it the large screen or the small screen dna?

Definitely the small screen I just got one. Would have loved the large screen but it's a little too big.

Thank you!
I've been trying to do a SS Mesh wick as per your video. Unfortunately it leaks big time. Any other added suggestions or possible errors I might be doing?
I use thick juice and if I don't make the wick literally just scraping by the inside it will
Flood. If I leave it more than a typical sleep
Overnight. It's a bit flooded. I think you can place small Amount of cotton or rayon in the channels just to make them say hand a thick and that fixes the issue when using less thick liquid.

I've never seen glad mech mods. I can say that GP paps series has an amazing switch and machining. But I want s different finish for the titanium gem.

For me though the paps stuff shines with their atomizers in the seamless mode.

I have to say I'm not particularly appreciative of mech mods. As a technologist I tend to gravitate toward technology - hence my interest in the dicodes.

Nobody here happens to have a titanium gem and a grey and silver m class or similar they could take a photo of do they?

For titanium owners what are you currently mounting it on ? Mines say on a boxer mod now just because it's my main atomizer and the boxer battery lasts forever. It stands on its own easily. Doesn't knock Over. And it's extremely light. While I don't think it would look great on the new 26650 boxer the weight would be amazing.

I have to apologize a bit to those complaining about temp control - in going back to temp Control with the gem it is pretty bad.

For some reason the boxer when paired with it even after screwing in / out the center pin to get w good initial resistance the boxer has to be set very low. I don't know if this is the way the chip works generally it's been out of commission for s few months so I need to reacquaint.

When I have a 5 wrap including leads build like this /|||/ it comes just over .07 (521 station says .05) the temp before it starts to taste a bit burnt is only 360f. I will do a cotton burn test today. It I'm reasonably sure it's just the gem which registers strangely and causes issues.

In the fasttech forums regarding the gem clone people have replaced the pin wih w kayfun center pin and resolved w fair bit of issues. I'm very curious to see if the material (silver played brass?) is the issue - or the length. Some have use foil and other sealants that create a better connection.

I believe that if Mark bugs made he center pin longer so that when screwed in all the way it sat outside the 510 by a hair it would work a lot better. I don't know why they continue to make the center pin so short when it's clearly when fully in place - unless it's just that is he length and it's an odd the shelf part - they can't find a longer one. Anyone have any idea or tried replacing ?

I'm going to start experimenting with replacing it with other items m.

The TC issue with the Gem certainly lies with the 510 or hybrid pin design.
Both screw pins need to be adjusted out from deck to make the connection with mods in either 510 or hybrid mode. With the WAE in hybrid mode, I have to turn the pin out almost a full turn to get a reliable connection.
With that in mind, it's clear that the Gem relies on the threads and shank of the pin to make the connection with the build deck. It is my belief the TC relies on a real solid connection to operate consistently. The Russian 91% has a 2 piece 510 pin, unlike Kayfuns and their clones. I have found the same exact issues with the Russian, as people are dealing with the Gems in TC. While I also understand that some people have successfully got their Gems to work in TC, it's my opinion that the build deck pin should be redesigned. Some thing like where the 510 pin is permanently mounted in the deck and have an adjustable screw in the center of it, just like the adjustable 510 pin in the original WAE or WE mods

For those who are dealing with all the frustrations with TC on the GEM I would suggest you try nife48 28g wire from zipvf. Maybe its sold from other vendors however when I purchased in November this was the only place I could find it. I believe this stuff is the same as nife52.

I have tried just about every other tc wire before this and was ready to give up on the GEM with TC. It was always a similar story, crazy ohm jumping, low ohms, coils touching, shorts, coil touching deck sides, etc.

I use 6 wraps, pulse just like kanthal until its glowing from the inside out. This leaves plenty of room, no issues with coil touching the side due to spacing, etc. I currently have this same build on both the SX Mini M Class at .30 ohms and Vapor Flask Lite at .32 ohms. Also, Nife will require manual TCR supported device, at least that is what I understand. In my opinion the vape quality on the GEM is as good if not better than one of the few times I actually got a good NI200 coil working on the GEM. I have been using these coils consistently for the last 2 months on 2 separate gems, not a single problem.

Here is the GEM on the new Vapor Flask Lite. I have been looking for a smaller device that would match the GEM that supports manual TCR specifically to run nife48,52 coils in the GEM. The Vapor Flask lite just received a firmware update supporting manual TCR. WP_20160110_12_39_34_Pro.jpg

@Dudditz

What's the tcr value? And what is nife? Nickel ...?

Thanks for the info!
I am no wire expert, there is some good information in the following thread. TC Beyond NI200

The TCR value I use on the SX mini M class is .00405 and on the Vapor Flask Lite a TCR of 0380 - 0420, I have been trying different options as the firmware was just released.

Also if anyone finds a good place in the USA. I can't justify high shipping costs buying wire outside of North America. I've never seen shipping for less than €15 but I'll check the recommended site.

Edit

Uninsured without tracking is €1.70 not bad providing it doesn't get lost.

Seems like most get nife48,52 from zivipf, not sure why its so hard to find. I purchased a spool from unkamensupplies and it did not work correctly, many others here at ECF also reported the same thing. At that point I purchased a spool from zivipf and it worked perfectly. My shipping for 2 spools from zivipf was 4.99 euro.

Gem on left is authentic, Gem on right is a clone. Am I correct?

I just got some titanium wife from them that was absolutely awful. First iff for sale it wasn't listed as quarter hard - which really doesn't work. Second off it didn't fit any tcr or pre existing profile properly. It's a shame they were great but now I feel like they're just grabbing wire to sell regardless of how good it is. We will see if that changes. He is replacing the bad to with stainless. I got 316 or 17 and then a spool of the really high number - can't recall it but it was 200 ft for he same Price as 30 Of the 316/17

I'd have thought it was the opposite. I have to say I've been curious if the clone is any good but I know this isn't the thread to ask that ;) based on forum reports not really. I'd imagine based on my clone experience the gem isn't good. He more intricate the worse it is usually.
