URGENT

CASAA is in great need of Georgia residents to attend and speak at a meeting of a committee of the Augusta City Commissioners on January 18th at 10 AM. There is a smoking ban pending that includes electronic cigarettes. The Mayor Pro Tem of Augusta agrees with us that e-cigarettes should be removed (he's against the ban as a whole), but I've been told that there is nonetheless reluctance to remove them.

It sounds like a worthwhile effort to attend such a meeting, if it would help, and I wouldn't be opposed to attending such a meeting in the future if the need should arise...but I'm scheduled for jury duty on the 18th.

If the meeting is postponed or rescheduled for any reason, I'll certainly try to attend and lend my support.

Just spoke with Frankie at OTG and got some details for this Saturday's planning committee meeting. The private room is open for us to take a look at between 3-6 pm on the 14th. They have events happening from 11-3 and then another after 6pm. He said we were welcome to take a look at the private room as long as we hit that 3 hour window when there was not an event. He noted that there might be cleanup going on during that time.

OTG does not allow vaping in the public areas of the restaurant. So heading over to McCray's after we take a look at the space at OTG would allow us to swap ideas and plan while we vape.

Maybe we should meet at OTG at around 3 - 3:30pm this Saturday the 14th, look at the space we have reserved and then head over to McCray's for the rest of the meeting? Whaddayathink?

We are allowed to vape in our 'reserved room'...probably because we're 'special'.

Carless - We can vape all we want in the private room...just not in the restaurant downstairs. I asked Frankie about this today and he said they tried it in the past in the public areas. They were getting complaints from sweet little old ladies after church on Sunday..."What's those funny things those young people are smoking over there at the next table?". So they decided to not allow it in the public areas for now. He did reiterate that we could vape up a storm at the meet in the private room.

To clarify...we can eat, drink, vape and have a good ole time during the meet but we will need to contain it to the private room. Should be a blast!

I should be able to make it to OTG around 3 on Saturday, but due to ride restrictions will have to pass on the follow-up to McCray's.

Hi guys - sorry I've been so absent lately. Work has been full throttle since the beginning of the year. I'm not sure if I'll be able to attend on Saturday. We've got folks flown in from around the world for some major IT planning (migrating my previous company's ERP system - Peoplesoft, into NCR's ERP system - Oracle, by October 2012....yeahhhhh....right!) this week and next, and there's a chance we may be working Saturday as well.

Sadly - I am committed through the 20th with my company and not PTO is allowed during this time. I work in Alpharetta from 5:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., so getting to Augusta would be difficult. :-(

Replying though, hoping that someone else will see that may have missed it.

I have two 3.0 ohm, plus a couple from my old Joye 510 (don't know what ohm they are). Are you high voltage, or 'regular'?

I'm not picky. I don't know what it is but I can not get an atty to last. I was going to pick some brains and see what I'm doing wroing.

So far, I've never popped an atty. Two of mine are over 2 years old, but still perform well. The other two are new; one came with my Lava Tube, plus I ordered an extra for backup.

The only thing I do is keep'em wet, and don't hold the button til they over heat.

• Layout room arrangement for vendor tables.

• Locate 'committee table' for sign-in/name tags/raffle tickets/door prizes/info/etc.

• Locate 'the facilities'.

• What is room capacity?

• Will we need a microphone? ...and if so, who provides it?

• Finalize arrangements with OTG.

• Finalize remaining activities of 'the committee', and complete 'To Do' and 'Need To Get' lists.

• (Have I missed anything? If so, lemme know! )

Then, get down to business with the important part of 'the meeting'...head to 'McCray's Tavern on the Square' (and bring yer gear)!
