Thanks, emonty.
But I've still been having leaks, with or without the o rings. Each time, it's fine at first. But after a couple of hours, it starts to seep, and the seepage turns into a leak. The leakage is coming from the air intake holes above the CR ring. Even though I love the simplicity and vaping characteristics of this device, the leaks have made it really damned annoying.
At the suggestion of SSRob and a few others, I have cut a ring of blue foam to fit around the four air holes of the brass base last night. I'm NOT going to say 'it seems to have worked' because a) the problem only shows itself after a couple of hours of vaping, and b) I'm convinced it's a jinx to say that. I've loaded the afs with some dark purple ejuice to make any seepage or leaks easier to see (I'm not wearing a suit today.).
So far, the blue foam doesn't effect taste and creates more vape volume at 3.7v. I would almost equate it to 6v vaping without the foam and orings. It tends to go dry a times, but a quick primer puff with the CR ring closed gives you ten or fifteen vapes with no problem.
As for leaking or seepage, I'll report back in a day or so.
I think the easiest way to make the ring is to take a knife and make a slit in a square of blue foam for the top of the brass base to slide into. Once the blue foam is around the holes of the brass piece, trace around the threads of the brass piece with a magic marker onto the foam. Remove the foam, cut around the tracing, and place back into the brass piece. Assemble afs per instructions.
