After many months, maybe 1 year, I deside to do a research to ECF and I found a thread where some people said that a "touch switch" will outlast the GG mechanical switch.
My answer is:

Clyde, think of 2 more things. Mechanical switch is user friendly (one of my main concerns), so it will never double cross the owner and with magnets it cant get burned or shorted. It can be locked too so it will not fire up in case you touch it by mistake.

Don't even mention touch switches! My mobile phone has touch switches and feels like it is haunted! I can't even think of touching it and it calls someone of my phonebook even on 4am. And if it is connected with my hands free, I cant just push "no" to stop the call, I must find the hands free and do it from there! #&@#$*&*& gadgets!
So, nope, mechanical all the way for me You press, it works, you don't press it doesn't work, simple!
I saw a device with a touch-switch when I was at the mini vapers fest in York on Saturday and I have to admit, it looked lovely.
BUT, what happens when that switch fails? You can be certain that it will, eventually. It's SO reassuring that the GG is user serviceable - I am an extremely heavy vaper (as anyone who was at York can attest. ), I rely on my devices and I know with my GG that I can fix any problem that ever crops up with it.

shorts happen every day Lisa, so if a short happens this kind of switch is dead. Can anyone compare this touch-switch to a switch that can be fixed in 3 mins by the user?
And as Jumi said, you push it it works, you lock it and it doesnt work

That's what I am saying. The device looks nice and the apparent ease of operation will attract many people, it is a nice device. However, they may well end up wasting their money like so many people have prior to owning and enjoying a GG.
You can not use touch switch with gloves and if you have dry hands it will not be reliable.
It gets real cold where I live and I wear gloves. GG forever

I like the 2nd version rounded over top mechanical switched Imeo came out with best of all, fully adjustable to where you want them, fixable but nothing to ever really break, look great, and very ergonomical looking on the GG units. Keep em please.!!
