I'm running mine with the big rubber top seal of the ceramic cup off because I get way better production out of mine, I run them on my Provari most of the time so I can just leave it standing while not in use. a very little tilt give the wick and bridge a nice splash of liquid and the flavor is super like this, you just have to be careful not to tilt it down running it with the silicone ring off the ceramic cup but dam is it good like this

Very little to none Danno, I tilt it so some juice hits the wicks, cup, bridge, wait a couple of seconds and then start to vape away, easy long draws and plumes of flavorful vapor. I thought about it for a while and took that dam silicone washer off and it works great for me, I thought some more and wished they could just put a flat dish washer ABOVE the cup and leave 1/8 of an inch space between the cup and dish, so they would have to make the Giant say 1/8" longer or shorten the height an 1/8" of the cup then make a nice mouth piece or make a mouth piece that fits over the tube and then not adjust the height at all, if you follow all that, but bottom line is it just works great without the silicone big cap over the cup, just a flat dish with a hole in the middle sitting and 1/8 above the cup would be great in my opinion Danno, then the mouth piece slips over the tube. not in it, that would also solve the air problem up top. one last thing is tighter draw would be nice by an adjustment with those slots on the bottom, I put a piece of tape there and it makes the draw and performance better for me.

I just finished gutting a v1. There is no way to change the ce2 inside but with normal care and cleaning it should last as long as any other ce2. Prolly the most determining factor would be the juice. I have had a ce2 in a similar tank last a month with just menthol and cherry juice and it never really did quit. I just never cleaned it or anything and it just kind of tapered off. I am sure I could have cleaned it and returned it to its former glory but why? After a month I figured I got my moneys worth and got lazy and didn't bother.
You could I suppose rip it all the way apart and replace the ceramic cup and coil assembly with one from a new ce2 but it would be so much work its not cost effective. How much is your time worth? More than 10 bucks an hour? It would take at least that long.
I think I am going to replace the tube on one and cut the bottom so I can use it on my epower without an adapter...

The types of flavors used will make a huge impact on how long anything lasts with an ecig. Carts, atties, cartos, any of it will depend on the juice used to determine how long it lasts. I love my Loran's Pomegranate, but it is a little harsh on the coils. Not as bad as some other more sugary ones, but bad enough that I have to clean or swap them every couple of days.

Does anyone have thoughts on the best way to clean these things? I just destroyed an original Maximizer trying to pull it apart. I kinda know how they are built, but taking them apart still seems like a risky operation. So that makes pulling the guts out to rinse and dry the wicks/dry burn a little tricky.

Is there a way to clean it after popping off the silicone seal, or is disassembly still going to be the preferred method?

cleaning the Maximizer ( giantomizer ) is easy, pull out all the plugs, empty out any juice, rinse out under hot water and flush it a few times then begin any of the 30 different cleaning methods for the ce2, from soaking it in vodka to vinegar to denture pills(must double rinse that stuff off) jewelry cleaning machine, HOT WATER SOAK, everclear or any other method. then wash it out well and flick it dry then either let it dry or roll up tissue and stick it inside passed the cup and dry up any moisture, then dry burn it and fill and vape.

you can use needle nosed tweezers to pull the wick up to get a cleaning going on them, or a burn or to tap them dry. then push them back down below.

hey bk any problems with the wicks on these? my last batch of ce2x several of them the wick just fell off after doing what you describe. fyi they were not in the stock tubes but little tanks almost exactly this size. I have taken to trying very hard not to bend or wiggle the wick so as to avoid putting any extra stress on this area.
and Stothek you cant get the ce2 guts out. With a LOT of patience you might be able to get the tubes off but unless you want to build it into something else its prolly best to just do the rinse and burn and keep on truckin IMHO

how big is the giantomizer? is it the same size as say...a usb ego on GV?

Yes actually, the carto itself is the same length and diamater as the ego battery (minus the connection part). So for example if you have a black eGo, the Maximizer carto minus the rubber tip is the same size as the black part. Put together it makes it look like a small cigar.

This works for me, so make of it what you will.

Try and give the wicks a rinse 'in situ' before trying to move them. If you can get most of the e-liquid out of them first, they become less self destructive. Also don't handle them if possible, use a pick or bent paper clip to drag them into the open, whilst the carto is still full of water. Empty out the water and use a butane torch or high pressure lighter to burn the wicks white. It gets the impurities from the e-liquid out of the wick. It's those impurities that unbind the wick fibers and makes them prone to falling apart. When clean and burnt white they are pretty tough.

Just my :2c:

A Giantomizer is the same diameter as an eGo and ecactly 3" long for the battery connection shroud to the tip of the wistle tip.

I just washed / dried and did a dry burn mine. It is back to that fresh out the box taste.

Man is it a Big Hitter.
