Wifey wants ice cream today. The thermometer says it is almost 100 outside (OK, 93 and climbing) ;) and it isn't even noon yet. So I am going to go get in the truck in a few minutes and drive to the grocery store (actually, it's little more than a mini-mart) in the nearest village to us (27.3 miles from here). That round trip will use four gallons of gas, and at nearly three bucks a gallon, that is going to be some really expensive ice cream. But darn, it is hot, and there is no AC in this house, and the fan only blows more hot air in, so we need to have something with a cooling effect. I wish we had a river to jump in...

Even that muddy creek at Zion would work... puff pant... where's my istick? I need a vape!

Picked a whole bucket of habaneros, jalapenos and other peppers from my little bootleg garden so I'm excited about that. I'm going to try a few different hot sauce recipes and see how they come out but I'm not sure if I feel like chopping for an hour today, maybe tomorrow. I've got to go grab a few travel sized things for my trip next week so I'll probably get that out of the way first. :)

I really really like that picture, I haven't been to the Northwest where there are trees like that since I was just a young tadpole, I'd love to go back some day and look at those massive trees again.

8/14 - 4: What were they fighting for? Freedom. Santa Anna wanted to take away the guns of the people. Loss of liberty, loss of free speech, loss of rights. If the people lose the right to free arms then there will be no rights to free speech, to rights of your belief, to rights of religion; or lack of. Please watch this short vid, and look up what people stood for; then go watch the full video. The Gov. is going for the peoples guns or ammo.... Stand for your rights, or support those who do.

Thank you. It's one of my favorites. The trees are one of the only things I miss from the west coast lol

Oh well... we are so far in the boonies that even our closet neighbors would have to drive through the heat to get here.

380 Yosemite Falls from across the lake.jpg

Same waterfall as the last pic, but taken from across the lake and in a different year when there was more water in the top creek.

I'd consider the invite @FuzzyThunderbear, but that's one heckuva drive for ice cream. Besides, I have coffee ice cream in the freezer :)

Well, I'm home... just 15 and a half hours til the b&m starts their grand opening celebration. I've put off ordering any new toy... er, I mean tools... until I see what they've got.

8/14 - 5: So Gay rights matter? Lesbian rights? Wiccan rights? Satanic rights? Atheist's rights? Yes they all matter... No matter your color, no matter your religion; or lack thereof. There is one common thing in all of these things, freedom to express your thoughts or rights. Being a Christian who sees through the lies; we all have that freedom. There are those who want to take away part of it, and in the end all of it. Do not be part of the PC police.

Are there Christians who are hateful? Of course, but not the majority; as well as any other denomination, religion. Do not let the politicians divide us, as they are trying to do. We are not to hate the police, they are not to hate us; we are to work together..... Can you see the divide the politicians are trying to use against us all against each other? Why fall for this, open up; and learn that we all have rights under the Bill of Rights and Constitution. There are those who can not defend themselves and those who will; the Oath Keepers are going out even this night, or last to defend all rights....
Vets who swore an oath to the Bill of Rights, and Constitution. They still do, and will do; those at least who understand the rights of the people under the land.

Defend those who will defend you. PIF to Uncle....
Freedom VI.png

Not disrespectful in any way, but we can stand together; or stand alone.

I'm just way too lazy to come get it...and being the slug that I am, it'd take me years to get there

Lannie wanted a Pyr that a friend of hers on another forum offered a few years ago, so I jumped in the car, drove all the way across South Dakota, across Minnesota, and halfway through Wisconsin before stopping at a rest area for a few hours sleep. Next morning, I crossed out of Wisconsin, drove through Illinois, Ohio, across Kentucky to Fort Knox, Tennessee to crash for the night. Next morning, I picked up the dog and drove all the way across Tennessee, the tip of Kentucky, Illinois, and all the way across Missouri, hung a right at Kansas City, up the edge of Iowa, part of Nebraska and back into South Dakota to catch a couple more hours shut eye. Day three was all the way across South Dakota to home. "Hi honey, I'm home. Here's yer dog." I think they wrote a song about me... Travellin' Man.

Anyway, your pic looks so cool and fresh... wish I could just dive in there right now. But... it's almost time to go out and do the evening chores, so I guess I'll put in my last pic for the day and go chase cows.

Eastern edge of Yosemite where I went horse riding with some friends... Ah, the good ole days...

G'night TreeFam.
