I got to see someone driving the wrong way down a street today. Fortunately, I and about ten other cars were stopped at a red light. The street is divided by a landscaped island and there are no driveways emptying out onto the street between two lights, so they must have turned left from the last light and not gone far enough. Idiots.

We have a similar setup on a lot of roads here and I've seen it happen at night a few times, it's pretty terrifying. It's way way wayyyyy too easy to get a driver's license where I live, when I was 16 all I had to do was drive around the block, took me about 4 minutes.

I just realized I've been sitting at the computer for well over an hour and haven't had a vape. I usually chain vape while on the forums, not sure if this is progress or not. I do know however that I need to go outside and chanivape NOW, starting to get that weird feeling.:eek::eek::eek::eek:

SUN SPOTS......might be a cause for interruptions
Those definitely have an influence on people, as well as our electrical grid, and bending of the huge electro-magnetic field around our planet (Van Allen Belt), etc., etc. As far as planets affecting people, we have that inverse-square-of-the-distance issue to contend with, so the farther away it is, the less potential influence it is capable of exerting. The reality is that the fat man in the next aisle while you're at Walmart has a greater influence on you than any celestial object.

While playing police officer a zillion years ago, during one of our training sessions, we had a psychologist talking to us about why certain people are most likely to commit certain types of crime. One of the guys brought up the Full Moon effect and it was explained thusly: If it has any relevancy whatsoever, it is tidal effect on your brain fluids. In actuality, there is greater tidal effect during the new moon, when the sun and moon are on the same side of the planet, both masses attempting to pull away from the gravitational effect of the Earth itself (highest tides). However, the full moon is when the sun and moon are on opposite sides of the planet and the sun's gravitational attraction is working in conjunction with the Earth's pull and must, therefore, be subtracted from the moon's gravitational attraction. That is still greater influence than when the moon is in any of the quarter phases. Then why aren't more crimes committed during the new moon? Because that is on the daylight side of the planet and... here comes the psychology of man... we are far less likely to commit crimes in the daytime than at night. And??? And criminals are less likely to have to use flashlights (and, therefore, increase the likelihood of being caught) when they have the light of the full moon to work by. I thought that was pretty lame and asked what the stats were for full moons with overcast skies, whereupon he said the whole thing is silly anyway because the statistics throughout the month show only a couple percentage points in favor of full moon versus any other time of the month, and if someone states "they are higher during the full moon" (yeah? By 2%? while still "true," it is statistically insignificant), then those who choose to believe it will spend the rest of their lives citing it as a reason.

Oh well...

The V2 Rocket RTA went really easy. I actually only had to rewick it and refill it.

The RLM(tm) AKA the Ridiculously Long Mod is proving to be a bit more challenging... having to deal with leaks and gurgle... =_&¥&/÷×@/

2.
Been a long, busy day. Finishing it off with my daughter having company over tonight. Her best friend is home schooled now too and they aren't starting back to school yet, so my husband is taking them to the zoo tomorrow. I'm going to stay home, no way am I walking around in 100 degree weather to see some animals I've already seen dozens of times. We've been members for about 8 years, the shine wears off after a few times. At least it did for me, especially during the summer.

Time to get caught up.. have a great night everyone. :)

My daughter had a small breakdown when she couldn't find one of her "projects." The project turned out to be a Lego construction she started at the beginning of the summer and then shoved to the side while she did other things. Lo and behold, my son had cannibalized the half-finished creation for pieces. It turned into a nice 15-minute discussion about the importance of cleaning up and finishing one thing before beginning another. I'm sure it all went in one ear and out the other...

The day is winding down,guys...Ready to kick back and watch some Netflix
@rangerrobin....I checked out some of that Sense 8 ...another Wachowski creation...and that is definitely noticeable! It's intriguing...down right wierd at times...Tell me, do you get the impression that Crazy Eye's erotic Pulp Fiction from OITNB might be a satirical stab at Sense 8?!..or just coincidence..
Have a nice rest of the evening everyone!

Sense 8 is by the Wachowskis? I had no idea, I figured no studio would ever give them money again after Jupiter Ascending. Perhaps they were working on this at the same time as that movie? Regardless, I loved the Matrix, the sequels aren't too bad either. Some of the CGI has aged really bad, especially in the 2nd Matrix when Neo fights 100 or so Agent Smiths. I also liked Cloud Atlas quite a bit, I could see how some people wouldn't like it but I really enjoyed it. I especially liked the parts of the movie that took place in Neo Seoul, super cool.

Thanks katz, words lost here. Thanks for playing the loop.

Savage Garden, now there's a band I haven't heard about in a long time. I think there's a song from them I use to really really like years ago but I just listened to a few songs of theres and it's nothing like I remember. I swear it was Savage Garden, maybe it's a band that has just Savage in the name or Garden, who knows. I still have some cassette tape "singles" (remember those things!??!) from way back when, I'll have to dig them out because I know I had one of theirs.

It's going to bother me until I figure out what song it was, it was from the 90's and it was a huge hit, I swear it was them. Off to scour Youtube........

Oh, and I really like this one, I'd like this on my wall:

@Utsuru, you and your talk of liking Savage Garden when you were 10 really makes me feel old... Then again, I'm listening to an album right now (Banba by Clannad) that came out in 1993--and it doesn't seem like 20+ years...

Oh well. Dinner calls.
