Just got down off the peak of the roof... metal roof... steep. Did you know that unless you wear shoes with really soft rubber soles that you cannot stay upright on a steep metal roof? I had to go to the peak and spray foam under the top cap. The roof leaks. There is no
discernible leak. We noted that it leaks when we have a north wind. I figured the wind was blowing water under the top cap, then it would get under the metal roofing (which, as I discovered, was merely screwed onto the old singles - those stupid .... heads!) and run down until it found a place to seep through into my ceiling. I hope this works because there ain't no bucks to have a pro come out. Sigh...
The cliffs at
Bridge Creek Wilderness area. I fell off of one of those (not the high ones, thank gawd) during a snow storm while elk hunting alone (major stupid) and, luckily, was able to climb out and walk the three or four miles back to the truck. I'm sure it looked like a Wilie Coyote cartoon... When I realized there was no ground beneath my feet, I reached out to grab the pine tree in front of me (only the top was sticking up at my level) and ripped needles off all the way down. Ouch! This pic, of course, was taken the following summer.
