Well, it appears that Mac's idea has taken root. Since Shawn is stipulating a time limit, I propose that we also limit the amount of time in which people can place their bets. Say, the end of this thread (Saturday)?

And, Blue, if we can get others, I'm in on the Treefam purchase for Shawn--but I think we should place a limit on how much people will be responsible for chipping in. We don't want it too high because that provides extra incentive for Shawn to hang on... but we don't want it to be a bargain-basement-priced evod, either. I would say between $5 and $10 would be appropriate. There are seven people who have already picked--assuming everyone is willing to pitch in, that would make the prize worth $35-70. Or maybe we set an upper limit and divide the amount...

Well, even as broke as we are, I can bet $5 on this. I have faith that Shawn will make it at least six weeks.

I do so love the trees and rocks... wishing I could be there. Sigh...

#1 Shawn - while not getting more gear is a very commendable goal I'm going with the others on this one.Maybe we should start a pool to see how long he lasts. Winner gets to take whatever he buys.

..While the odds seem mighty enticing ......DON'T DO IT @Shawn Hoefer !!! It's a TRAP!!
...I rather preferr a more civlized first in, first out approach....I mean..if your goal is to "maintain" ...or otherwise cow wrangle your stash into one managable number , then I say...if you buy something new..consider PIFing "something older" to who ever comes closest to the actual purchase date...

OK...I'm goin with my Birthday next week..the 27th...and since @angelphyre has already picked the best day out there...and there are no other magical dates to choose from ...I abstain ..but I do have some "spare parts" laying around here that I can donate to the making of the "frankenstein " prize

That's one of the things I love about this forum. As long as I stay out of the hard-core-cloud-chucker's threads, not only is everyone super friendly and nice, but they are so willing to share their toys with the other kids.

Seems I am always finding some high spot to walk out on to better view the world... (there are trees down there, though this entire valley was wiped by a fire only a few years before this pic was taken)

My guess will be Black Friday, the sales will be too good for Shawn to pass up, plus by then something new will be out that he has to have. $5 to $10 should be affordable by then.

Did y'all sew the new Coil Master Tab Ohm meter? It'll check, and fire so you can tweak coils on the meter! Just $39...

Are you honest @Shawn Hoefer ? I mean, will you really tell us when you finally break down and buy something? If you don't tell on yourself, who is going to know for sure when the "breakdown" finally occurs?

Burned out valley (Tumalo Creek)... but if you look really hard, you will see some trees.

I have to take my daughter to her first soccer practice of the season. Her new coach indicated that she would like to have some parents help out at practice and perhaps participate in a scrimmage at the end.

I've been known to bend a rule or two, but I consider this group home and my daddy taught me not to .... where I eat...

I'll even share my current spreadsheet. Understand that if I am ocd enough to build a spreadsheet, I'll not be very good about NOT adding any new purchases...

...no..I haven't...SWEET...And what a great deal ...and I do need one of those...
You know...I think I can help you with this...just send that new Coil Master Tab Ohm meter to me....and that way "you" will get the full benefits of being able to buy it...and "I" will get the full benefits of a really cool gizmo I need but don't have and wouldn't otherwise be able to afford I like it.
