It is board-op-boy! Nice of you to catch that! So few people actually do. Are you in the business?
Disabled and, therefore, forcibly retired. Used to be an engineering manager at a large Orygun company, however, so your name just sort of automatically appeared to me to be a title.

Another one of those little waterfalls you can only get to by hiking deer trails. So sad so many people will never see it...

Excellent! Long gone are my days of being a board op... I am now production director in a medium market... it's not glamorous, or well paying, but it's what I love doing.

A ha! Thank kind of board op. I've run boards at our auditoriums, and I used to deejay a 6-midnight run at a radio station.

On the other hand, I used to assist in the operation of a bulletin board system.

I've never surfed, though, and can't operate those boards.

I've also bored people while operating... but I don't think that counts...

@Fuzzy Thunderbear some of the trails you post look like some of the paths I wandered when I lived in Colorado. There is a serene, austere beauty to be found in the mountains.

Arkansas is lush, though. I would not trade the greenery I have about me now for all the rugged, arid slopes I hiked as a younger man.

Congratz to @boardopboy on the win. Enjoy!
@anjelvape77 ...big excitement! Prayers for DIL and baby
@angelphyre ..hope you feel better soon. My current home remedy calls for plenty of honey, lots of water, and chewing on 3-4 cloves of fresh garlic a day....The garlic alone was hard to take so I threw it all in a processor... the honey , water. some lemon and lime juice, a lil salt.. and a generous shot of vodka...it's not so bad now :thumb: ..but I won't be entertaining guests (or werewolfs) for the next few days

I was a party DJ in college, but never had to work a full production board. I still spend some time cleaning up my analog recordings as I slowly digitize them, but that's all done virtually.

On the other hand, I used to assist in the operation of a bulletin board system.
I was never a Sysop, but I did write a BBS platform--does that count?

I've never surfed, though, and can't operate those boards.
I've got you beat here, since this is something I grew up doing... and still do--only sans the board these days.

I've also bored people while operating... but I don't think that counts...
It counts if I can claim it, too. Hey, see my ECF handle? :D

I think places that beautiful are better left unspoiled for those that are willing to find them.

Just got down off the roof, putting more sealer (tar-like stuff) on any tiny cracks I could find. I seriously doubt that is where the water was coming in. Supposedly, we have a big storm with high winds coming at us tomorrow, so I guess this will be the test.
Long gone are my days of being a board op... I am now production director in a medium market... it's not glamorous, or well paying, but it's what I love doing.
Well, congratulation on the promotion. Not because you got a bigger title or maybe even a small increase in salary, but because you are doing something you love.

I knew so many people that were not happy in their jobs and when I said, "Do what you love; the money will follow" (or you will learn to live with less and be happy about it), they just said, "Yeah, right..." not even believing they could ever get a job that they loved. I absolutely loved what I was doing, but when I hurt my back, the HR guy foresaw a potential insurance risk and got my manager (VP Engineering) to lay me off. Social Security declared me 100% disabled and I said, "Why? Just because I can't get around very fast doesn't mean I cannot sit at a desk all day and put great ideas into the computer." But, alas, no one wants to hire a guy who is a potential insurance risk. What if he falls off those crutches? How much sick time will he use? Well, none, because I was always on time and left the company with over 200 unused sick days on the books. So much for "equal opportunity." Now I am a hobby farmer and do more physical labor than ever in my entire "working life." OK, I don't put in a full eight hours every day and I take too many breaks, but the job still gets done, on time and under budget. ;)

120 North American Bison.jpg

While we have lots of these North American Bison here in South Dakota, this particular shot is Jellystone National Park, Wyoming. Yeah, almost everyone calls them Buffalo, but they are not. Can't convince anyone of their proper family/genus/species classifications because every western movie they ever saw calls them Buffalo.

NOT AN ENTRY

You are right, and the key word is "willing" to find them. I really would hate to hike out there and find tourist trash all over the trail. When I hiked maintained trails, I used to pick up everyone else's trash and take it back to the garbage cans at the parking area. If they could carry it in, they could carry it out. Whole bunch of expletive-deleted words for those kinds of people.

So glad it's Friday. though it had that Monday feel to it this morning..
yes..@Fuzzy Thunderbear ...to use the cliche..it is one thing to talk the talk..another to walk the walk....I have known musician's who slept on friend's couches and floors as their main residence...but I gotta envy them because they loved making music. Musician's are made of different fabric than you and I...It's like they need to make music like we need to breath. Don't know about you, both I can't right off hand think of any job I've held that I felt that way about.....just sayin
