PIF to @Slowone2

Good morning!

I thought about this thread when I went for my 2nd cup of coffee this morning. I got to see a nice buck and 2 does in the trees near my barn. This isn't my pic, but it's close enough to what I saw. I love living in the country!

@KattMamma go back add edit your post to include a number and a date to be eligible for the contest.

@tiggerrts I'm loving the story.

@Opinionated i saw the surgeon a week or so ago and he told me nothing can be done, referred me back to my pain dr for more injections and meds. That's the lower back but the stenosis is doing in my neck and hands to the point I cannot do a lot of stuff I want to do. Just fishing for a few hours Monday and I'm still paying for it. I go see my pain dr in a couple weeks and hopefully the epidural will help relieve some of it.
(This post might be helpful for you to know also @KatzWh1skers )

Okay, so its permanent and surgery cannot be done (don't worry about that.. surgery isn't all its cracked up to be) but there are options, and I would speak to your pain clinic doctor about it. Instead of surgery, they can do things like a spinal cord stimulator Spinal Cord Stimulation for Chronic Pain which most people report a 50-70% pain reduction after getting this implant..

they will have you go through the series of injections - but at the point the pain clinic decides the injections have done all they possibly can do, begin to talk to your pain clinic doctor about options such as I listed above.

Technology and medical knowledge today is much better than it ever was.. and there are so many things they can do that don't involve drugs for the rest of your life.. another thing they can do is a constant morphine drip over the effected nerves (which is also an implant - but it does reduce the amount of meds you need to take orally, and doesn't make you feel loopy), although in your case with it being in two places, both neck and lower back, they will only be able to do one implant so you would at that point have to choose which area is worse - and have the implant
(whether morphine drip over the nerves or spinal cord stimulator) go over that area..

you wont be pain free, you will still need naproxen and neurontin most likely, but you will be able to live a normal life so long as you keep up with your physical therapy.. and as hard as physical therapy is, it is a huge help for pain reduction in the end also, so don't dismiss that or put it off.. you need it as much as you need anything else.

My 1st ever unregulated mod is expected to arrive tomorrow. I'm excited and nervous!

:tumble:

I think maybe being nervous is normal, I am quite nervous over getting the xcube11 myself, having thus far only used an ego..

its all about learning new things, and trying new things, and that is what makes it so exciting though!

Thanks @anjelvape77 for the pif! That was so very sweet of you!

Oops.. almost forgot:

Good morning, everyone. Wow, there has already been a lot of chatter...

Good morning, Good morning, Good morning! Yes.. I am a morning person, up before dawn every day - and usually very happy about it, which annoys most people about me. To wake up the kids for school I used to wake them up bouncing on their bed saying Good morning, good morning, good morning in a sing song type voice. I got more pillows thrown at me in my lifetime...
When I have to wake my kids up for school, I usually take on a unique role. Sometimes it's drill sergeant, sometimes it's mariachi, sometimes it's lounge lizard--but it's always annoying.

Tiggs, thanks for Episode Two. I'm very excited for Episode Three: Revenge of the PIF.

Good luck in the contest, Shawn.

Sounds hysterical! I'm extremely curious...what does a lounge lizard sound and/or look like?

As long as it doesn't blow up, my next post should be a pic of my new-to-me device!

@KattMamma Don't forget to add a date & number 1 to this post you can win some great juice...........I love that pic, and you are lucky to have the deer come so close........

9/3 - 1: The Island of Angel, episode two.
The tree family was tired after that exciting day, and rested for the night; but their minds kept wandering who? The next day as they stir, the new shinny is sitting in a bird cage. :?: What? Up walks Uncle "We are on an island, what did you expect?"
There is a set of footprints in the sand, but not feet... Someone had tiptoed with their shoes off, and on the other side there was a trail of popcorn. Someone agile like Mac, he lived on an island before and knows his way, think some. The guilty dog barks first and was eating popcorn :pop:, it must be Count; thought others. There is a sound of pain around the corner, and the people rush to see. It is Bella :( "Brain freeze" she states while holding up a Slurpee.
When did we get a Slurpee machine, and what happened to the camel?
:tumble:
Great story Tigg..............I am so in..........

I hear nightmare stories about the VA, and I am lucky I went through what I did without all that mess..
Thanks,Opinionated. I thought about it, and my biggest gripe with my VA is the "inconsistency of care" ...if I may, I can PM you..
I am also a morning person...I start out with a full tank of gas ..all revved up...by 6pm I am draggin...lucky to get a grunt and a shrug out of me

I got the seeds about 5-6 months ago. Two months in warm dirt and then 4 months in the fridge. Seems all of them sprouted
This is intriguing. May I PM you about sprouting these seeds?

@Shawn Hoefer- Good luck to you and the Stepdot!
Have a good Day/ Night everyone!

Sounds hysterical! I'm extremely curious...what does a lounge lizard sound and/or look like?
Think the Love Boat theme.... or Rico in Barry Manilow's "Copacabana". Sleazy in looks and sound. (I also performed a mean lounge lizard version of Fleetwood Mac's "You Make Lovin' Fun" during my bachelor party, but that's a story for another time.)

Good morning, good morning...
few of "Us' here that anything more than a Mornin' - or even a Hi, is too much chatter first thing and definitely not before "We" had Coffee
Lannie gets me out of bed about 7 AM, but I am not "awake" until the coffee sinks in and at least another hour goes by (while sucking on the binkie), then comes morning barn chores, then feed the dogs, THEN have breakfast. So, by 11 AM I am finally awake. Yes, I am entirely a night person.

Funny how people are so different........as for morning people....I actually love the way early morning(4 am-ish)......because it's quiet and I can think.......but since that never happens anymore.....I sleep till about 9 and join all of you........when allergies are active & I can barely read so mostly I just post what's on my mind....and read back later on in the afternoon....
Well Treefam I am off for now....have a great day everyone.....I will check back in later...

Funny, that is exactly why I am a night person. Wifey and the dogs are in bed sleeping, all the cats are outside (hunting tiny critters - quietly), there's no one on the highway to make traffic sounds, so unless I have the TV on, the only noises that can disturb me are in my own head. :) (Vulcan calling Earth Agent Fuzzball... come in Fuzziest) Hmmmm... have to draw a cartoon for that one... later, tonight, if I remember... Did I tell you I have short-term memory loss these days? and Did I tell you I have short-term memory loss these days? And... by the way, who are you again?

095 elk just inside Yellowstone National Park.jpg

Left Montana and went into Jellystone to see our old pals Yogi and BooBoo, but found an elk wading instead. Hmmm... wasn't that same elk in that same river the last time I was here? Oh well, it's the trees that count...

I like that its not as active..makes it feel more personal and "home like". I have quickly come to love the interactions and the friendship building...but that's just my reasons for sitting on a branch talking to the fam lol
