So, @glassmanoak , how are you doing now that you're out and back to the working world? If the leg fully functional?

After leaving Colorado, we buzzed through New Mexico (only a couple cactus pix) and stopped at Painted Hills and Petrified Forest in Arizona (no trees at all, unless you consider a rock shaped like a stump to be a tree), then back up to Grand Canyon to visit friends (you've seen enough of those already), so the next stop was Horseshoe Bend on the Colorado River (I've pointed out the tree in that pic), then through Vegas and back up to Tahoe...

How is everyone today? I just kicked my feet up for a few in the bedroom and got on the laptop while the living room is full since I didn't feel up to sitting on the floor (not sure I could get back off it right now! lol), and found all these alerts! Thanks guys so very much for your kind wishes!

Ha Fuzzy, we just got through watching Bonanza a little while ago! I love all your pics from out that way as I've never been able to visit that part of the country, but would love to. I love nature, and living where I do, we don't get a lot of that around here!

Don't know if I've said it but welcome to all our new Treefam members! It's good to see all the new faces, although most of you I've seen in those "other" threads as well. Glad you all found your way here!

Tiggs, I really did love your story! It was very creative! And fun! You had me literally laughing out loud several times! And you definitely had us pegged!

I've had a lovely do-nothing day today (well, I did charge a bunch of batteries and fix up some coils.) Heading out for a cookout this evening. Gonna be a touch warm and humid, but cold, frosty beverages should alleviate that.

As long as Mr. Nice GMO keeps the TreeFam going, I'll keep putting them up here, so eventually, maybe you will feel "as if" you had been there in person.

This is a place called Crack in the Ground, south central Orygun. At places, maybe 40 feet deep, up and down for about a mile. And on the bottom...

...it's a Lannie! Notice the erosion of the rocks implies that, at some point, there was a lot of fast-moving water going through here, but other places show no water erosion at all. A very interesting hike/climb.

Note added after the fact: Lannie, poor dear, in following me around, has been to the bottom of caves, cracks, and up mountains. She deserves a medal. I think I gave her a case of rock mania.

Where has my head been this morning? Welcome to the family! We might be crazy (OK, a couple of us), but we have lots of fun here.

It's either Halloween again, or I became a druid (and ya know how we like to hang out in the Oaks). That was in my back yard, so I know there's trees back there in the dark.

Well, just about time to stuff the evening meal in the mouth and head out to feed the cows and chickens (the horses are feeding themselves on my lawn ever since the riding mower broke). Don't know if I'll get back here tonight, so just in case, have a great evening TreeFam!

Orygun coast still looking pretty rugged. I know there's sandy beaches somewhere on this coastline...
