I have heard that cats ..and dogs, etc KNOW when you are hurtin....dunno..my cats seem to e oblivious, except to the sound of a can opener
All of my cats and dogs are tuned into me. This (below) was a very good friend named Kato.
Kato seemed to know things no one else knew. He could detect problems before they happened. When I was outside working (back in Orygun), he would come out and check on me and, if everything was OK, he'd wander off. If I was tired or in pain, he would annoy me until I stopped and came into the house. One day, while I was putting the roof on a small greenhouse I was building, he actually climbed the ladder and patted my leg, yelling at me to come down. When I did, he let me know, in no uncertain terms, it was time to stop now. I often wish he was still with us, but there are others today that do his job. Xena, my precious baby girl, often comes out to the cow barn and cries at me because she doesn't think we should be out there with those monsters. Once we come back to the house, she goes about her business as if there never was any problem. Tonight, we had to stay in the cow barn an extra long time because Bandit had her baby right at sunset and we had to carry it back to the barn and we stayed until we knew she was getting colostrum/milk and mommy had licked her clean. Xena never left my side during the whole of the birthing process (talking to me all the while) and when we got back to the house, she went to bed instead of going back outside to hunt. Amazing little people. The dogs know this stuff too, and they often try the same stuff, but they also know I am more attuned to the cat mentality, so the cats are my personal advisers.
Darkness has arrived and I am a couple hours behind, so I'll take this opportunity to say good night TreeFam. Have a good one. See ya tomorrow.
