So my dad is a real trooper. Even with having bronchitis and feeling rough he said his Halloween party is still on for tonight. Not sure if he is tough or just stubborn at this point.

I'm sure it's a little of both, but either way that's definitely a good sign. Glad to hear it wasn't more serious.

OK, folks, someone needs to explain to me what a "Like" button is for. I am not on Facebook or any of those things, so I do not hit "Like" just to show I read something (if that's what it is for). To me, the word, in and of itself, has a specific meaning, i.e., I liked what I just read. If I read it, but did not like it, why should I say I liked it? Do you other folks use it that way? And, if you don't like what you read, what is your reason for "liking" that post? Come on, folks, lay it on the table and don't pull any punches. I need to know if I am approaching forum life from the wrong direction.

Congrats 101, you are about to try the best juice ever...

Fuzzy, I try to like posts however my only internet is on my iPhone and most of the time hitting the like button causes my phone to lock up. So most of the te I don't like posts. I also have issues staying logged in and therefore don't get on as much as I would like. I can "voice" type most stuff but not passwords.

@Fuzzy Thunderbear - I approach the "like" button here, and on FB, in much the same way you do. Everyone is different and there is no standard way.

Today, I rewicked ALL my tanks and drippers. :vapor:

Have a spooktacular evening, everyone!

To "Like" or Not to "Like" . . .

AND - While "My" comments are in no way to be taken as official, I will chime in to give Ya' "My" PERSONAL OPINION and the use of the "Like" . . .

Well - IMO - It really all depends and comes down to the person who is using the "Like" and why . . . More specifically, from what I can see/have seen (especially here on ECF for the past few years - it has nothin' to do with FB at all, since that is a whole other story) and who does what, it also depends on the group dynamics of the thread and whether or not it is a discussion thread or even a contest thread too . . .

SO - Here "We" go . . . Some people will "Like" each and every post, then most of the time others will feel obligated to "Like' their post . . . Some people will limit their "likes" to only post where the appreciate or actually "Like" what was said in that post or even when someone has made a very valid point/statement . . .

Or just "Like" their friends post to let them know they read it and are acknowledging what they have said . . . Then there are people who "Like" post willy-nilly for no rhyme or reason too - usually to achieve some sort of status . . . It is even honor here on ECF Member pages "Notable Members" with who has the most "likes" here: https://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/members/?type=likes (BTW: Do Ya' Notice "My" Friend "AGGIE" - the Monkey Mama's - 314,697 well deserved "Likes" ;) ) . . .

Then there are those people who take the "Like" very seriously - which can be a double edge sword, especially when there is a heated conversation and people are "liking" post to side with one person over the other or when showing favoritism . . . Worse are when a Contest is based on "Likes" and ask members to "Like" to vote on a post - when this happens it has become a Free for all of who is more popular here on ECF (Remember Middle/High School and who were the popular kids) with people "liking" their friends post and not the post that should have Won . . .

Given just this basic premise, once again, I will say it really all depends and comes down to the person who is using the "Like" and why . . .

For "Me" (as it does for "You") - the word "Like", in and of itself, does have a specific meaning . . . As does the words "Love" & "Hate" (which I will rarely ever ever use unless I mean it wholeheartedly) . . .

Also, I made a decision a long time ago to only "Like" a post for very specific reasons which are mind alone . . . First and foremost, I DO NOT ALWAYS "LIKE" EVERY POST , especially those with sad, depressing. or upsetting information included in them . . . Most of the time, I will "like" a post when I appreciate or actually "Like" what was said in that post or even when someone has made a very valid point/statement and then sometimes even comment on a specific post if I think I want or NEED to . . . Other then that I do "Like" certain post to acknowledge when someone has made a very positive comment about themself, their family/friends, or someone else; is extremely uplifting, or to encourage someone for wht they said in their post . . . Then there are some of the "Like" I give here as the Contest Helper when someone is saying Good Morning or Night, Mentions "GMO" and/or anything to do with "The Vape Tree", even mentions "Me" (although half the time I don't understand why - but it is to let them know I read their post) . . .

Hope that makes it a little clearer for "You" . . . Just Sayin' . . . ;)

I think I may be a little more random or haphazard with my "likes". Mostly I like it, when I genuinely like the post, but if the post has sad or otherwise depressing news, I "like" it, not because I like what they wrote, but more of a show of support. There are times when I "like" a post, but doesn't really have to do with the post and it may be because of a pic, video, etc. that was attached to the post. On a couple other forums I visit, I've liked posts because of their sig, usually because they've changed it to a new one.

On the other hand, just because I didn't "like" a post doesn't mean I didn't like it, sometimes I forget, I miss it or got distracted. I get distracted easily, ever since I was a ...... oh look a squirrel.....

Dang it! That's exactly what I mean, I got distracted about the reasons why to "like" a post and I forgot what I was gonna post before. I just finished watching "Insidious", good Halloween movie. I think I had seen parts of it before, but it was pretty good, it's got a good creepiness factor. I think I'm gonna watch A Tale Of Two Sisters, S.Korean horror flick, it's supposed to be pretty good. Just hope not to get distracted aga...... look another squirrel.....

I "like" a post either because I like it or to show support for the person making the post. I've "liked" a lot of posts with bad content such as someone being sick or something bad happening in their life not because I like the content but to show support for that person. There is no one I would wish bad things on or like the fact that it is happening to them.

Aw @Slowone2 ...I had no idea your internet access was so challenging:(

I liked @Roadtrip635 post . I will generally "like" a sad post if I am short on time to show support...otherwise I prefer to address it with a seperate post . ...but sometimes I forget... SQUIRREL!!

I liked @mac63 's post ....because it's a 4 day weekend for him ... and I like that he is taking time for himself ...what he calls "bein lazy" :D none of us believe you when you say that mac  ...but I don't like his head fog :(
..and then there are those oxymorons...where you don't wanna like the post because it is upsetting or sad or tragic or unpleasant for the person posting...but their tree pic is just SO COOL! In those cases..I have "liked" the post...then 2 seconds later..."unliked" it becuz I didn't want to give the impression that I LIKED the hell they were going thru....And then maybe decided " Oh what the hell!!... " and re-liked it ...
In such cases...if I have the time...I like to address the poster in a separate post...but sometimes I get busy....or I forget....SQUIRREL!!
@Fuzzy Thunderbear ...so...as you can see ...what a person "likes" is really a very individual thing...and if you can't tell by my post ...you can make yourself nutz real quick trying to figure out what any of us meant by "like"
If you blink, you may find I have already "un-liked" anyway ... :D ...and that might make you wonder why I unliked it....But that's a whole different subject... "un-like"
SQUIRREL!! :D
Some of you here know what a notorious edit-er I am:p
