Sooooo....looks like hubby will indeed be off for the holiday! As a matter of fact he is on the way home now
not sure how the next few days will go but I know itll be better with him home with me
We all know that I am almost invisible here when he is home so just in case I'm not on

I just spent a couple hours cleaning out my wife's computer. It's rather long in the tooth, so it could be encountering some hardware problems, but having a boatload of extra services running certainly wasn't helping.

I will also be busy cooking today in preparation for tomorrow... I made a cherry pie last night....tonight will be the pumpkin pies........so that's the extent of the hard parts....

My was making pumpkin cheesecake this morning.... as she was cleaning up, 10 minutes after putting it in the oven, she realized that she forgot to add the vanilla.
Good thing she was already planning on going to the store this afternoon...

This year I told the kids I was not making plans for Thanksgiving... My husband and I plan to spend a quiet day together. Of course none of them made plans to invite the parents to either. So. Looks like they haven't figured it out yet. We shall have to see what Christmas brings

11/25 - 2: Should have known better than to believe what I was told last night. Twice as much to do today than told, and instead of a half day turned into an 11 hour day. Then get home to see my check was shorted seven hours. Not seven OT paid as regular time, but seven missing completely.

Yay, Yay, Yay! The hubby is going to make it home tonight and be home for Thanksgiving! It was close!
Happy Dance! Hitting the store late tonight when everybody else is asleep to get some goodies to sit and watch movies and nosh all day long with the love of my life!!

Well, the shopping day is almost done. What a hassle! Running constantly (and the sore ankle objected the whole time). It was snowing lightly, but at 20*F and 40-50mph wind (wind chill about -1 to -3*F) it was very hard to fill the truck's tank before coming home. Hard to get the debit card out with gloves on... can't hold the metal gas nozzle with them off... juggle... juggle... Got home just in time to help Lannie finish the chores. She managed to get the peepers in the coop all by herself, but keeping them in while ushering in the last few chickens took both of us. Then I brought in all the stuff while she put it away. I'll leave the grains and stuff for tomorrow. Way too tired to try to do it in the dark.
Believe it or not, that's a bald eagle in that tree (the evergreen behind the gnarly one).

My shopping today was just routine food for us and the critters (nothing special). There rarely is any special cooking this time of year here and no shopping for gifts for anyone, not even each other. We cannot afford it and still take care of all these animals. Oh well... such is the life we have chosen. Our Thanksgiving dinner is likely to be frozen pizza.
