Feels like a good time to try stretching out with a book.

@tiggerrts - I'm surprised you'd be expected to work in those conditions. :?:

Sometimes (OK, a lot of times) I really miss being in Oregon. There was always some place beautiful to go to. Here is South Dakota, there is nothing for miles and miles but miles and miles of nothing. Boorrrrriiinnnngggg.
I seem to recall you posted the answer awhile back, but I forgot.
What prompted your move from Oregon and how did you wind up living where you do today?

:tumble:

Looks like everyone is either still in the after Thanksgiving day stupper - Or trying to take advantage of the Black Friday sales and shopping away ( @rangerrobin, @angelphyre, & @Shawn Hoefer - YES "You" . . .

) - Or could just be staying in that other thread posting away . . . Well whatever Ya' may be doing, I hope "You" are having FUN . . .

@tiggerrts . . . As "RR" said - Very smart move. . . And although, given what "You" have said about your boss, I would expect him to expect you to go to work even in bad weather - So really glad to read that you decided to not risk it and stay safe and hopefully warm in your home . . .

Okay - Time to check out some of the other ECF neighborhoods . . .

Nope. I've been crying big, crocodile tears and giving The Wife puppy dog eyes. Nothing's working... well, nothing except me... I'm working... not shopping...

Good morning Tree Peeps! Welcome to Black Friday (why do they call it "black" anyway?).
New here just saying hello!
Welcome to the best thread on the forum where only the nicest people hang out.

Uh, money, or rather the lack of it. I got disabled (forceably retired) and trying to live in a Californicated state on a fixed low income wasn't possible. The house payment alone was eating my entire check. Sold my house (3.5 acres w/single-car garage and small pole barn) and found a depressed (economically) place to move to. Got 10 acres with house, double garage, huge shop, barn, chicken coop, sheds, large garden plot, etc., etc. for less than half the price of that smaller place in Orygun. So we figured we now had the space for cows and chickens instead of just the three horses. Of course, all these animals are keeping us poor, but with judicious spending (I am a real Scrooge now), we barely make ends meet. Could never have done that where we were before. Some days, the love for the critters outweighs the desire for the beautiful treks in Orygun and other days I have to suppress the yearning for exploring the great outdoors. Ya rolls yer dice and ya takes yer chances...
