Hey Mac, after he gets to Lackland, ask him which BMTS (basic military training squadron) he got assigned to. I was in 3701st BMTS... in 1967.

Looks like I'll have to wait til we get the mandatory postcard/letter they send to get that info.
Got word that he made it there - at least into TX. They get/have to make a quick call sometime after arriving. We figured he wouldn't be able to call here but would try. The plan B for when plan A failed was to call his Aunt. This morning I got an email from my Ma saying he called her - told her he made it and asked her to let us know - figuring my sister may have been out so he went to next on the list and called Grandma.

That's better than when the other son went in the Corps - no one heard anything until we got the 1st letter almost 2 weeks after he left.

Have to make a quick grocery stop then head for home.

Well I think we got a small (very small) taste of winter today. Woke up and it was 34 outside. Still no sign of snow. Starting to think West Virginia moved south. On the bright side, no slick roads to deal with. Have a great day everyone.
