Again - THANKS EVERYONE . . . :D

It sounds like it may be time to look for a new one.

Yea - I agree, however this was a new Dentist . . .
4317.gif

Anyway, after going through all this and the hassle to find this Dentist, since with the insurance I have - I would have to pay out of pocket for anything to be done anyway, besides X-Rays/Checkup/Cleaning - I have decided to go out of the program and go to another Dentist . . . Just Sayin' . . . :)

Got a little info today about the upcoming transfer - my resume was pulled as a possible match for a position. Their HR is looking at it and whatever other gubernant stuff they do. Might know more next week. At this point I'm figuring that it'll go thru. Depending on how fast the various offices work I could be moving as soon as mid Feb.

Hopefully, this is a position "You" want . . . Congratulations and GOOD LUCK . . .

Not liking the cold temps here right now. Tomorrow is supposed to still be cold and then maybe a bit warmer after that.

Well for the past 2 weeks it finally cleared up and stopped raining here in South florida . . . AND - Since then it's been in the mid to upper 80's and not expected to go down to the 70's until maybe Christmas . . .

Okay - It's time to check out some of the other ECF neighborhoods too . . .

See You Later . . .

@Anthony-Usa_OH - Welcome Back!

@Uncle - Oh, the real life dental nightmares I could share, but that would take way too long to type out!
You'll do much better paying an out of network dentist. :thumb:

Well, it's time for me to roll out. Have a terrific day, everyone!

"You're" right - I'm hoping I will do better out of network . . . AS - For those "nightmares", I so believe Ya' have been . . . Matter of fact, seen and heard enough of them and been though a few of them "Myself" before this - had periodontal work done at 14 . . . But - Thankfully, I haven't had to go the route as some people have even mentioned here already . . . I really just want to keep what I have for as long as I can . . . Just Sayin' . . . ;)

Mornin tree folks.
Been catchin up on posts...
...and lookey see! I'm up before noon!! :p
..and I didn't evn go to bed till after 1am!
@mac63 Indeed ...I hope this is the assignment you were wanting .... a bit of an improvement over active duty "coming down on levy" (but not by much!:censored:) ..... I was happily enjoying myself in BFE Cal when I was sent to Okinawa ...then...just as suddenly ...after only 2 months there...off to the Mainland. I had no idea they do that to you outside active duty as well. But I know you will make the best of it . (take your bike :thumb: )

@Uncle Word of mouth is still your best bet ...otherwise it's a crapshoot ....talkin 'bout dentists ...but applies to many things in Life
I have had word-of-mouth I did not care for ...
And been lucky with "unknowns" ...alot like dealin with /finding any other kind of doctor.
..but it can be done ...
I lived in a tiny berg of 5K people in Alaska ....one dental clinic ...one dentist ...no insurance with a broken tooth same as yours ....explained my situation and was able to do a type of cafeteria style treatment ....They only cleaned the one tooth ....took one xray of that tooth ...and then opted to apply a "Temporary cap" over my broken tooth till I could get a crown. ..all for about $300 ...(2002)
5 years later, they had to ply that "temp cap off" :D Best darn dentist I've ever had in Alaska. But they were also used to workin with people with little to no income or insurance.
The Guy quit dentistry to move to Oregon and raise pinot noire wine grapes :p ...I hear he still has a chair in the livingroom for fam and friends
My friends tell me it is a common ploy by too many dentists offices to MAKE you have full XRays taken ...AND ....a full cleaning ....even if you just HAD them done somewhere else! (I think it's called "padding the bill" )
No ....You just had some taken ...get those and go do what you do best ...go be Uncle .... :grr:
If you have xrays in hand, and they still insist ...it may be the front desk bulldog who is the problem, but it's time to say adios and move on to the next .
If you are able to get a really soon appt ...even if u were told that you need blah-blah-blah done AGAIN ....you can try calling their bluff ...go along with them until you get back to the chair ...that is your main objective :p .....once you are in "the Chair" ...and when they start the "let's XRAY you spiel" ....you say, no ...just had that last week ...here they are ...Cleaning? ...no ....just had that... Once you are back there in the chair , it is my belief that you have a better shot at calling the shots ....only some cruel MFers are gonna toss you out from there....

PS... @Uncle ...lovin the "Spoiler Alert" feature :) Learned sumpthin new ! ...now can I goof off the rest o the day?!:D

While piggy was in Russia she got a toothache. She ended up needing a couple root canals and caps put on. Yes it took away from time with her family which was not nice, but she figured it out and had what would have cost about $3,000 dollars here in the U.S. With insurance, For under $300 there. Financially it was really good timing for a toothache.

Sorry that happened, but lucky her!
More and more I hear of people travelling to foreign countries to have dental and/or medical procedures done. Medical Tourism is especially on the rise in places like India and Thailand.

@Slowone2 wow :shock: ...$300 ...that's f-ing amazing :shock:
I have heard the same stories of reputable dentists and doctors in Mexico .... same work ...fraction of the cost ....wonder if Cuba/Puerto Rico, etc is anythin like that @Uncle
:tumble:
When I lived in LA, I went to Mexico for dental work and saved approximately 10K! Until 6 months later, when all the new work had to be redone! :-x
I even went to a dentist that others I knew had used without any issues.

I once pulled my own tooth. It just kept bleeding and ended up having to get it stitched. Hospital bill was more than it would have been to just get it pulled. Lesson learned.
