Still have HR people that can't read and trying to do weird stuff - had to give them another kick in the rear today - I'd rather use a 2x4 upside their head (wouldn't do much good but I'd feel good about it).

Hi all you lovely tree peoples. Just passing through on my way to do more housework. When the hubby and youngest son get home this afternoon they won't recognize the kitchen. Think they will help keep it this way. Probably for a couple weeks. Lol

Smile. If you need a reason, well, open yourself up and find one. If you can't find a reason to smile, make one

PIF to @liblue1
For winning the internet today with that comment.
Gee thanks........
A reason is never needed to drink coffee. If a reason was needed, I would make a reason.
I don't know if there is one either.....because it's there, I suppose is the most repeated reason.....
I am thinking there isn't a reason NOT to....
About a week before the Super Bowl, hard to believe, seems like football season passed by too quickly.
I can't believe it either....I can see that this year is also going to fly by....

Personally, I stopped writing in cursive in high school, couldn't read my own notes. It was fine when I have time, but trying to write quickly while taking notes, it got ugly quick....lol.
Just curious about those who cannot (or won't) write in cursive: How do they sign a check? (or any other document) Do they just make an X and have someone else witness that they made their mark? And if you answer that no one writes checks any more (I still do), even your credit cards have to be signed on the back.

I asked the same question.....and because I am not a cashier anymore I have no idea......

I've noticed that when people "sign" their names it's usually closer to making their own marks than actually writing a word. The only time I use cursive is when I sign my name(legal documents and such), but most would be hard pressed to pick out more than a couple letters. For a lot of people, there may be a discernible letter or two, but often it's their own creative squiggle.

There isn't a requirement that a "signature" be in cursive anyway. People aren't typewriters and even those that print usually have their own styles. When I used to sketch and paint, when I "signed" a piece, I printed my last name. It was stylized, but legible, where my "normal" signature really isn't.

I guess I am a dinosaur. My signature looks just like all the rest of my handwriting (all letters are legible). I don't sign my "original" drawings/paintings, but initial them in a unique stylized cursive (e.g., AR 2016), but for anything posted online and copies, they get the name printed in full, like this:

Wendy Witch, by the way, is one of the Little People, which is why her drafting pencil is so large. :)

Well as I was also thinking about it and I suppose it really is no longer needed to be used.....I mean it's kinda like Latin..we know our words come from it...and sometimes we need to know why(not often anymore).....but as I watch people walking around with their faces buried in their phones typing away....I wonder how much is needed....
I know there is some people's handwriting that I can barely read...but I thought it was just me.....now I am finding out that there are so many more that are just being lazy and not being able to read it...
I often ask myself what ever happened to EXCELLENCE....(Maybe because I am just getting older or maybe because the world is getting lazier....)Where did that go?

Similar subject (writing), but different direction. How many of you can write upside down? Example: you are across the table from a friend, who is looking at a map. You get out your pencil and trace a road on the map while they are reading the map (to you, it is upside down). You need to write 22 MILES, TURN LEFT but cannot grab the map and turn it around to do so. Can you write/print that upside down? And if you try, will your friend be able to read it? Try this on a blank piece of paper before you answer.

That's funny....with dyslexia I find that I can........printed...although without lines it is crooked across the paper...(it probably would be even with lines)......although had it been any other number I am not as sure.........

Well Treefam I am off for now....Have a great day & I will check back in later on...

Evening treefam. Little pain on or around tooth number two. Not enough to need anything but enough to know work was done. Go back in on the eighth to get the permanent caps on and get one more done.
Hope all is well treefam. Hugs and prayers to JP and Mrs. JP.
