I got an email from GMO today..................
Today finds me feeling g better and also more lucid. The pain meds plus fennegrin has had me in Neverland for almost this whole month.
Hallucinations, delusions plus NO rational thinking at all. I couldn't figure out how to get in touch with you! How bad is that !!!
No clue how long before I go home...still lots of rehab ahead. I THINK that I can start a fresh thread on Sat. so give me a best time for you and I'll work on it from this end.
In brief, this is what happened to me. On a Friday morning I woke up with extreme pain in my abdomen. Having been here before, I went to emergency room. They found massive clots in the arteries on my intestines and we went right to surgery. Found out later that I only had a 4 % chance of survival !
The next day found clots in femoral arteries so another 4%. operation. I could barely sign consent form.

My son Chris and his fiancée Mystique drove down from Philadelphia (17 amazing hours)
It was like the heavens opened when they walked into that hospital room. I'm absolutely sure that all the thoughts and prayers and positive emotions of my friends at ECF made all the difference in my survival.

would you please post a modified version of this email so my peeps will know what's going on. I'll also try to keep up when physically possible.

Thank is for everything
Sherman

Keep sending healing energy everyone......

Xena was born last year in my bedroom closet. She had a little sister born first, but she didn't make it. I had no idea what to name this baby, so Lannie suggested Xena because she appeared to be a fighter - one who was determined to survive, I mean - so I wrote it down as Zeena. Lannie corrected my spelling and asked if I didn't know about "Xena: Warrior Princess." Never heard of it. Never saw the TV series, but I went and looked it up on a search engine, so then I understood. And my little Xena is the lovingest sweetest cat I've ever had (at least to me), probably because ... (see below)

Xena follows me everywhere. If I am eating something, she begs to have some. I am the world's biggest softy when it comes to my baby, so of course she gets a little bit. She eats her treat (chicken, ham, eggs, toast, whatever), cleans herself thoroughly, then wanders off for a nap. Next thing I know, she's either following me or, if I am sitting still, gets in my lap and snuggles. Princess? Yes. Precious? Yes. Warrior? Only if some other cat is between me and her. Can you see the neon sign on my forehead, flashing SUCKER! ?

Catarina is very spoiled, as well.

I have lived with cats before, but never had my own. Although I've known a few cats to beg, I always thought that was a dog thing. At first, when Catarina started begging, I only gave her things I thought should be in her diet like; fish, cheese, etc, but she kept insisting, so now she gets other things as she likes. The most unusual being cookies, but only sparingly. ;)

Like the saying goes: dogs have owners, but cats have staff!

GMO, the angels are obviously on your side for you to have lived through those two very tough emergencies. Know that your Tree Peep family loves you and wants you back. Pluck up whatever energy you can and get well soon.
Uncle, we're rooting for your recovery too. Both of you pucker up and get back here.

2 we told folks in OR this is our summer cabin.jpg

When we ran off to Montana, I sent this picture back to friends and family in Oregon, telling them that this was our brand new summer cabin.

Good morning everyone. It was nice to see an update on GMO.

@glassmanoak so happy to hear you are getting a little better. I couldn't even imagine going through what you did. Scary knowing the low chance of survival from the surgeries, but you showed them how tough you are. Get well soon so we can all see you here again.

Good morning, everyone. Well, it appears that my info is out there due to a national credit agency's complete incompetence in keeping my data secure... Discovered today that a credit card with a $5000+ limit had been opened in my name. I got that one shut down, but now that the initial 90-day fraud alert period is over, it appears to be open season. It's gonna be a fun day as I try to sort all this out...

My jaw is extremely sore from having 3 shots; the 1st didn't work nor the 2nd, and from holding my mouth open for so dang long.

Happy Hump Day for me and the others here that it applies to! ;)

Have a wonderful day, everyone!

Here are the new digs...
....niiice! (you know you like to keep several things goin at once  .... ......or you'd be bored out of your skull:p
Raining here guys so I have no excuse to not work on this overdue project... wish me luck .... I figure we humans aren't meant to slave away at a 'puter all day ...I mean...it's not like running a 5K ...no...no adrenaline rush or endorphins to make the work more enjoyable ...just nose to the grindstone ...where's the "fun" in that?! Course, Ma always said ...if it were "fun" they wouldn't call it work :grr:
Enjoy as best you can ...
and Dale @DaleH1985 ...this baby has decided to make it's OWN schedule ...but if you ask nicely she will wait for you to be there since it is so important to you

Ha! Plenty of "air conditioning" , that's for sure ...
@liblue1 ...thanks for the update on Sherman ...I missed that post for some reason until just now ...
@rangerrobin and others who live with catz .... y'all have such cool names for your catz.... I have one named Small Black Object (SBO) ...and she is neither "small" or a blurr when she plays anymore...so I just call her "Small One" ...but her "secret cat name" is Ming Wa ...What?? You didn't know cats have secret names that only THEY know?! :p
And that they are secretly exploring off world aliens, trapped on Earth and forced to assume a feline entity?? They are waiting for the Mother Ship to return and rescue them .... You didn't really think they were from around here, did you ;)

I guess I've been blessed to share my world with cats that answer to the names I've given them.... well, except for my current cat, Loki, but he's the god of mischief, so....

A morning's worth of online and phone "fun" has resulted in setting up some alerts and discovering that someone was beginning to try hijacking one of my credit cards (no charges, but they changed the address). :glare: All of this, of course, just before I was planning on spending money on food and beverages "for the kids." Oh well... at least it's done for now.

Hmm.... past noon and Blue didn't remind me that it's time for errands! :?: Guess I'll have to go it alone...
