Yeah Ranger, the sick ain't good, you need to get better, you're needed. Hope you're feeling alright soon, if you go to a doc-in-a-box and tell them what's up, and that you need to work through it - some will hook you up with something better for symptom support than OTCs, at least some real Sudafed, maybe some codine syrup.

@rangerrobin ...sorry you're down wit da bug. :(
One consolation is that with a bad case at least you aren't left dragging around "kinda" sick for weeks (or months) on end.
The last man camp I worked we had folks comin in from all over the globe...and bringin their bugs with them...so we had rather a smorgasbord of germs and crap. Our on-site medic commented that he'd been "the walking ill" for several months...had thrown every antibiotic known to man at it...but it kept comin back. I'd start my rotation ok...2 weeks later, when my shift was up...I'd be running a low grade fever. Then I'd go home and recuperate...go back to work and it would start all over again. It didn't go away until I finally succumbed to it ...102* fever and punk for a week. No problems since . Guess it was something that could only be burned out.
Try to think of it as building up your immunity ... get thru it anyway you can ....You won't be foolin anybody that you're not sick ...but hey ...no one will want to get close enuf to mess wit u either :D
Hang in there ...long as you keep pneumonia at bay, you will survive. :)

@greasegizzard I noticed that after some time out in the Bush of Alaska that my hearing seemed like it got rather acute. But then, I don't need background distractions like a radio or TV playing to amuse me. :pop:
So I hear all sorts of odd frequencies. Some of them even sound like Morse Code ...too bad I don't speak Morse Code .
.... And then there is tinnitus ...ringing in the ears ...it is my "white noise" when things are very quiet. But, it too changes frequencies. Funny...we actually were discussing this on another thread ...PM me if u would like the ECF link.

...sorry ...@Slowone2 ....hope you feel better soon:nun: .
Another round of battling to get the VA to help me ...and more blood tests next week.

2/10 #2.
Do you happen to have ADHD or something alike? One of the "symptoms" is that you don't have a built in filter to filter out background noise.
Trees can help against background noise:
...I didn't know that about ADHD (it wasn't around when I was a kid  :p )...very interesting ... I know science is just now coming to realize that just because something may not be "mainstream" does not make it "bad" ....guess it depends on how disruptive it is to the individual trying/ or not trying ...to fit into a square world.
My guess is that it's not "just" a background noise filter that's "missing" ...Some of us are just born without a filter ....we get to go thru Life UnFiltered ...and (as fun as that sounds....NOT!!...) ... that can be quite challenging....since none of us come with manuals...
Good news is, once a person realizes what Filters they're missing ...they can create their own if needed.......and nope...no Wally Mart for those  ...but a person could turn on a radio if they were tired of listening to Morse Code :D
Or turn the Channel...if they were tired of watching big fat sweaty guys in g strings on the Toob :D @mac63
well of course I am spouting my own rhetoric here ...take what makes sense and leave the rest.
(..another reference to "that other thread". )
Lots to do today folks!
Have a good day ...and if it's even better than that , then good for you :):)
:tumble:

Yeah, I hear a lot of buzzing in the wires too, that Tam does not.

Yup, have the same. I can even hear the different frequencies of different fluorescent tubes.

I'm glad it's not just me then. I was getting ready to call Mulder and Scully since they're back to work now...
I do have a touch of ADHD I think. Never been clinically diagnosed, though. But I do find that I have to be doing something engaging most of the time, even just watching TV I am usually playing a game or something on my phone, too.

I am the same way. I can sit in total silence as long as I'm doing something. The same with the constant ringing, too. Not so much with the different frequencies, although they do change just not as much as you seem to experience. I will send you a PM shortly. Sounds like an interesting read.

Anyone else bugged by subtle flashing lights? Strobes are fine, and fun if the music is loud, but I finally had to tape over the lights on my router and battery charger because I couldn't sleep with the light in the room flickering just barely perceptible...couldn't get my mind off of it, couldn't stop watching enough to relax.
Wish I could get ADHD meds without going back to a shrink, GP/NPs should be able to prescribe them but they never will for me.

Yep, same here. Solid LEDs don't bother me. Blinking, though... Drives me crazy. I found a clock that does the temperature highs and lows and some other fancy stuff. I have to keep it covered up because it's too bright. Luckily it also projects the just time on the ceiling, no blinky blinky, just a projection dim enough to see when it's dark. And I have to turn the LED function off on my phone because inevitably something always makes it blink at night...

@GolemGolem hey, Tape is good! :) ...sounds like a cheap, quick and easy fix to me! (I have been known to place masking tape strategically to block that intermittent flashing from smok alert devices on the ceiling  ....they bothred me and fed into dreams that the aliens were coming :p

I also use a blue light filter on my puter screens (all of them) as some studies have shown the light put out by most electronics interferes with your sleep??

I have those nights. Lay awake and lay awake...finally get back up and watch tv or cruise the web. Finally fall asleep when the rest of the world is coming to. That's what they invented coffee for. Well, that and because it tastes amazing.

Does anyone else find that they can hear frequencies from electronics more so than other people they know?
Yup, but the more annoying of these "noises" is because of my hearing aids. They work kinda like WiFi (a wireless remote can adjust either or both and when you manually push a button on one, it "radios" the other to also change). Therefore, they pick up on any EMR (electro-magnetic radiation - ALL electronic devices emit this to some degree) and present it as an annoying background noise (hiss, hum, clicks, beeps - depending on whether it is noise from a cheap motor, ultrasonic cleaner, etc.).

However, as a few others have pointed out, your brain can also pick up on some of this EMR noise (not just tinnitus). Without my hearing aids in, I cannot "hear" the constant buzz of the power lines that run along the edge of our property, but Wifey does and won't stand near them because of it. However, I can "feel" the EM field that surrounds those wires (tingles the body hairs). Several years ago, I wrote up a 68-page document on your body's electrical system (ALL your nerves, in case you never bothered to think about it, are electrical in nature and can be disrupted by outside electrical and magnetic interference) and the effects of EMR on you. It was peer-reviewed before release, just in case you are worried I am a wacko. ;) Anyway, any of you who want a copy, PM me and I'll e-mail you the PDF document.

Don't worry about me thinking you're a wacko. I'm the one that mentioned hearing my electronics trying to hum to me. Good to know I'm not alone, though.

Running a little late for lunch...
Yes you are.....but I only got up an hour ago...
About those mysterious hums.....apparently there is a whole lot of them going on all over......I remember first hearing about them years ago.....out in places where they should't be any electrical energy anywhere around....so if all these people hear them (or pick it up through other means) why do you suppose there's not more studies done?

Because studies cost money and unless someone fronts them (government grant, university, etc.), those scientists are not going to invest their time in it. Then there are people like me, who just want others to be aware of potential health risks and do studies for free. Guess what happens to us. Yeah, every friggin' cell phone manufacturer tries to get us run out of the country with claims "there is no proof that microwaves damage your brain" and similar such BS. Well, folks, there is medical proof now. But does anyone stop using these things? No, because they are too "convenient."

I know......I was listening to the radio last night and there was yet another show about it on.....it's been years and still no viable answers...and as for cell phones...well that's right....no one wants to give them up....it's too easy a solution....but it's turned into a "I want it now" society.........and the cell towers are even more of an issue around here...you can't go anywhere without having your connection......

Well Treefam I am off for now....have a great day............
